Lancaster engine issue

Is it asking a bit much for a Tornado what with 617 not flying at the mo' (Messing around in the US excepted)
I can't decide whether to go or not
I'd have thought a Typhoon or something would be appropriate, 100 years of RAF and all that. I can't decide whether to go or not
We'll be walking about 4 miles to get to the dam (not risking parking any closer), and probably then waiting about an hour on Pike Low. It's a long way for about 30 seconds of flypast, but worth it if combined with a bit of a hike and a picnic.

Is there a map of the expected route anywhere online?
There won't be anything official but people may have plotted stuff based on the details i reposted earlier, previous years or NOTAM data.I’m in South Lincs and it’s been over the house a few times over the last two years. Would be great to see it tomorrow.

There was something on the BBMF FB page just now with a pic of a press release, the gist of which is that unless winds abate before tomorrow the Lanc unfortunately won't be able to do the dams fly-by.
I just saw that..predicted too much wind for take off. Not cancelled yet, but not likely.mcdjl said:

That’s a shame. I can’t belive the RAF won’t send a couple of other aircraft over at the designated time?
Typhoon confirmed. I'll not make it now though. ETA: Lancaster confirmed cancelled.

Not there but still gutted it couldn't fly. I live in close proximity to Bletchley Park and get a great view of the fly overs from my garden, you haven't lived until you have heard the sound of 6 or so Merlin engines overhead (yes I am aware the Lanc has four, the other two are usually a Spitfire and a Hurricane or a pair of the aforementioned)
That said about 70 odd years ago it was probably a cause for concern hearing that overhead

And gusting to 31mph, and direct from the north, which means virtually a cross wind for Coningsby, so no surprise the Lanc was a no-go.
Shame.
Looking at the traffic situation in the Ladybower area at the moment, there will be a great many disappointed people.Shame.
The news is that even the replacement Typhoon aborted the flypast due to poor weather at low level..............
