It's hard to pick an all time top 5 as it often depends on a mood at a particular time but here goes.
1. Casablanca
2. Die Hard
3. Casino Royale (Daniel Craig)
4. Lego Batman
5. Tinker Tailor Solider Spy (Gary Oldman)
I'll get spanked for no5, but I really liked it. It's my favourite book and it's pretty faithful to the book. Lot of people thought Oldman was doing a poor impression of Alec Guinness but I think he bought his own flavour to it. I liked the Guinness version also. The whole cast is superb.
Casablanca is my all time favourite. A wonderful film.

I might just be tempted by Raiders and Ferris Bueller but I would swap the whole list for A Very Long Engagement , Annie Hall , Fargo , O Brother Where Art Thou? Or ,more recently, The Shape of Water.
But I am a terrible cinematic snob .
Dont be a snob, watch a film from my list this weekend, turn that frown upside down But I am a terrible cinematic snob .

Nothing wrong with the others in that list (although I don't know A Very Long Engagement), but there are plenty of films on the rejected list that can be enjoyed with no sense of guilt

I think the majorty of replies here show that there are loads of Bish Bash Bosh action movies out there, and many of them are great fun. But for them to be favourites bypasses much of what the movie industry is about.
My favourites change all the time. I love films that tell a story well, or differently or that do something new.
For example, my current 5 favourites include Dunkirk; a film with little dialogue and a very clever way of interweaving three storylines, and three timescales into one.
I love Amelie, for the Jeunet look. And Mic Macs for the same fairytale ambiance.
Run, Lola Run (in German - the English dubbing is truly execrable) tells its story in different ways, to great effect.
Secondhand Lions is a gentle, and finely done piece of storytelling.
12 Years A Slave is a powerful, and finely done piece of storytelling.
And so on.
In truth, Leon will probably always be in my top ten, but the top five changes all the time, and I think that's how it should be.
I love the first two Bourne films. But I've seen them enough times now that they wouldn't make it onto my desert island.

I think there is a big difference between 'best' film and 'favourite' film.My favourites change all the time. I love films that tell a story well, or differently or that do something new.

The two lists I posted are most of my favourites of the past 35+ years of me watching films, I'm not suggesting that they're all the best that cinema has to offer, like I alluded to earlier I'm not a 'film snob', but I'll watch pretty much anything once, if I enjoy it I'll watch it again.
Take 12 years a slave for example, I thought it was brilliant, but it's not one of my favourite films and I'll probably never watch it again because it's not an entertaining film, for me.
Another example is the poster who put Lego Batman in his top 5, now we all know the original Lego Movie is far superior to the Lego Batman movie, but if Batman is their favourite then that's fine
I snipped your post a bit, but only to try get my point across.
