Brakes & Breakfast Sunday Service 29/07

Come and join us in Tamworth with Alcon Specialist Brakes & Clutches on July 29th - last few spaces!

Our eighth Sunday Service installment of the year (eight already?!) sees us heading to a brand new venue many of you may already be familiar with... Alcon Specialist Brakes & Clutches are very kindly having us on one of their fantastic Brakes & Breakfast meets on July 29th!

It's surprising we haven't joined them previously, as it sounds like the perfect Sunday Service - to us anyway. How will the day unfold I hear you ask? There will be all of your lovely cars on show plus a few from Alcons distributors such as the Pikes Peak RS200, Gobstopper II and Porsche RWB. A technical presentation will take place at 10am, a charity raffle and prizes from Alcon's event partners, and some in-depth factory tours throughout the morning to see how the firm design, develop and manufacture brakes, clutches & actuation for motorsport, OEM, aftermarket, specialist and armoured/military vehicles!

The tours will be limited to the first 150 people (staff limiting), and are available to sign up to on the day, so if you fancy getting a behind the scenes look at how the best in the business create their products, this is the Sunday Service for you.

We have space for 150 cars on the day (plus ones, or more, are of course more than welcome), and it will start at 9am and finish at approximately 1pm. If you want to take a look at what Alcon do, check them out here.

So, don't miss out and get yourself signed up here!

Date: 29th July, 2018
Cost: None, but we like biscuits with our tea...
Time: 0900-1300h
Space: 150 cars

Address: Alcon Components Limited, Apollo, Lichfield Road Industrial Estate, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 7TN

Gutted I can’t make it, would have loved to have given some PHers the grand tour but it clashes with the Snetterton BTCC weekend!

Lets hope the weather holds. Not looking too clever at present. I haven’t driven the 4C Spider with the roof on yet, don’t want to start now!

Sadly have to bail from tomorrow. Roads around us are flooded and the forecast for tomorrow looks even worse. The 4C can be a bit of an animal in the wet and especially a monsoon! Bring on the jcb event.

A great mix of cars. A big thank you to Alcon for their hospitality and to all those who turned out in less than ideal weather.

Was a good morning. Shame about the weather but fair play to those that showed. Definitely the potential to be a good venue in the right weather

Enjoyed the trip to Alcon “Brakes and Breakfast” this morning. A better turn out than I expected given the poor weather. Factory tour was interesting. Many thanks to Pistonheads and to Alcon for arranging the event.

Great event and tour round the site, the alcon staff were all really friendly and helpful.
the blackwell SPR1 parked up caught my eye too, looks great for an mx5 conversion!

Thank you all for coming to our first "Brakes & Breakfast" event. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did smile

Here are the winners (raffle):
- Dave Hanson won a £200 voucher at String Theory (alignment, corner weighing)
- Craig Jenkins won 2 tickets for BTCC Silverstone with hospitality
- Gary Smith won the Pyramid Car Care kit
- John Brookes won the Pistonheads goodie bag

We were also running a Gran Turismo Sport competition in partnership with Bilstein. The fastest lap of the day was Will Hills, he won 2 tickets to Autosport International.

We raised £547 for St Giles Hospice, thank you!

We will post photos on here and on our social media pages later today.

I wonder how many PH’ers were dying to get home and rant about Phil Morrison’s ‘Slambo’ Murcielago hehe
