Bought this back in March from Cars of Somerset, told myself I would go to look at a few but saw this and put an offer in. I know blue has mixed opinions but I really like it! Its been pretty much reverted to standard from a pretty mad spec I believe from the vast reciepts? Just Quaife Diff, baffled sump, K tuned shifter(i think it is) and the AEM V2 left on.

Previously owned a Glanza and a Charade GTTI so was used to turbo power but loved the way it drove. The Charade was insane, one of the fastest in the UK however was unreliable and parts were getting awkward. I wanted car I could just jump in and take to the track while still being reasonably comfortable for road trips! My first taste of VTEC was a rough as f*** ep3 that I really did not gel with, but VTEC was addictive and knew they were reliable.

Brake pads and AD08s fitted for a trackday at Castle Combe, car did great even with 30c temps most of the day. Highly rate the PBS pads as used on the Civic Cup cars, great bite from cold and didnt experience any fade

Treated to a retrimmed steering wheel by Royal Steering Wheels from the girlfriend

Currently the car is being a bit neglected as currently refurbishing a house. Hopefully next year it will be supercharged or at least have all the N/A bolt ons!

Saw a white one of these on the back of a trailer on ferry from Rotterdam to Hull UK last night.
Nurburgring sticker on back and roll cage fitted. Being towed by three enthusiasts in van..
Assume it had been to the ring for a blast.. It looked very tidy..

Lovely mate...was after a blue one myself initially.

Check the boot in the spare wheel well for rust, rear light seals like to leak and it can cause havok if left unchecked!

Bit of a bonus with the freshly retrimmed wheel too, that costs a few quid!

Cheers! The blue ones seem to be marmite, makes a nice change to the usual Championship White! I did check the boot back when I got it but need to check again! Need to get the garage cleared of DIY ste and the car in for the winter

The facelift blue is a slightly different blue which I do prefer, but the bumpers etc are less aggressive looking. This was previously charged however all removed before it was sold. Yup Royal jobby, very impressed for the price,

Fitted a new exhaust as the standard one seemed to sound strangled in vtec. Quite difficult to avoid a droney exhaust and something very loud on a Honda, but happy with this custom system

I wonder why they did that? I presume that they got more back for the kit than they would selling the car with it on.

Nope custom system, was on a ITB'd Facelift before but swapped over perfectly and fits great

Very nice; best colour too wink I'm biased at it's the same colour as the DC5 I had moons back smile

  • Edit: Just seen you said the short-shifter is still fitted; good, they make a huge difference over OEM
Good looking exhaust that too; looks very well made!

Lovely but more info on the GTTi wink

My first car was a red charade GTTi, loved it. Swapped it for a Renault 19 16v and it was no where near as much fun and felt slower. Had big plans for it but I was traveling back & forward to Catterick back then and that’s a killer drive from home!

I haven’t seen one in years, the guy who bought mine wrote it off after a few weeks frown

Spent thousands on it

Forged engine rebuild, Custom Wossner pistons, arrow ti rods etc. Was rebuilt twice as the oil pump chain snapped on track due to the balance shaft frown
Minus the B18 swapped one Im confident it was the fastest on the road! Custom turbo kit to suit a saab GT17 turbo to get it up to around 200hp. Its up for sale again actually.

When working the teg is half as fun as the charade ever was, problem being it rarely did work for long

Friday I booked a half day and managed half a proper clean before it rained. Also managed to freshen up the headlights a bit with some toothpaste

Made the most of the nice but freezing weather Saturday and headed to the Brecon Beacons with a mate in his DC2. Didn't really have an idea where to go but stumbled across the a4069 Black Mountain Pass

Had Booked a track day at Castle Combe on Saturday, weather was spot on and car seemed to be running great. Until EML and a misfire revealed a broken spark plug, so it was a trip home on a flatbed. Recovery provided by Nationwide bank was brilliant, arrived in 30mins, quicker than a Ambulance these days

Managed to get snapped during the 20mins I was out.

Haven't done much to the car, just been driving it. Found a few mods I was unaware of, RCAs, camber bolts, hybrid shifter cables and rear camber arms which was a nice surprise.

Bonnet dampers fitted and 4 point harness:

Another track day at Combe with slipandgrip automotive:

Not sure where to put some money into the car. It handles and rides great on the current suspension setup so not sure whether to go for coilovers. Or get an exhaust manifold and inlet and go for a bit more power!
