I watched this the other week. Left wondering at what point demand will run out for them. Looks strong for a couple of years at least. The question is then what do they do? Expand out to offer something for the 993 along the lines Gunther Werks?

I cannot imagine Singer being able to build a car every 2 weeks. Most of the specialists I know take 6 months. Some take over 5 years and still have not begun the project.

They have not a production capacity of 4 cars a month...target is 6 cars a month which should be doable without compromising the quality.

They currently have a 30 months waiting list but the "classic" line won't go on forever.

Some exciting projects other than the DLS in the pipeline, it's a company with a clear direction and with a great plan!

I was thinking the same thing when watching the video. I've never owned a Porsche, never been tempted, know very little about them - but even I've heard of Singer.

They're beautiful things - wonder if the owner in Alabama will drive it much? Looks too nice.

I have to say when I watched this I thought it was a really, really old video and wondered how many more cars they’d made since then and how the car had improved and evolved in that time - especially after seeing videos of the new one shown at Goodwood. I thought it must be a pain if you’d bought an early one, as the “new” ones would be far more refined, improved, evolved, etc. After saying that, it really is a very beautiful car and I think lottery win permitting, it would be a nice thing to own, but it would have to come after a CGT - so it would need to be a euro millions win I’m afraid.

I had no idea there’d made so few - it’s one of those rare companies whose brand presence far out ways the reality of its actuasl scale.

Either way, best of luck to them, it’s nice to have companies that do this sort of thing really well.

Anyone on here own one - would love to know what they are like to live with - such a shame that the highest mileage one still had very few miles on it - it looks like the most perfect DD to me. Wouldn’t that be amazing to be able to own something like this and to have the means or the mindset to genuinely really not care about it’s value. As I say, a Euro millions win may be about the only thing that would make that truly possible.

( I loved the colour; I wonder where it was “borrowed” from - I think he said it was Lunar Silver ?)

Agreed, it's very impressive how the Singer brand presence has grown by that extent. I very much admire what they do and I'm also glad there are people who are willing to pay what it takes for what they do but a lot of the demand seems driven nowadays 'because it's a Singer' rather than necessarily for the end product however good it undoubtedly is. I find it hard to believe someone with the means to buy a Singer here for example couldn't find a couple specialists even here in the UK nevermind Germany to 'Singer-ise' an older 911 up to the same standard for probably less cost.

my post yesterday didn't make it I seems - stupid internet connection
For me the same, first a CGT and then a Singer - Singer as a daily and CGT for weekends would be my perfect 2 car garage

The other point was that I don't think demand will tail off anytime soon as "normal" Singers (not the DLS), esp in the US, are not so expensive that only the super-rich can afford them (think Bugatti, Pagani, Koenigsegg pricing), so even a reasonably well off Porsche enthusiast might buy one to add to his collection.

Edit: I believe Maxige on here bought one last year and posted a video or pics of it in the (I think) dolomites at some point

The DLS is £2mil or thereabouts I believe....that puts Singer in some pretty special company and they are selling cars at that point, I was lucky enough to have a passenger ride with Marino Franchitti recently at a charity event....he’d been doing development work on the DLS with Chris Harris the day before....to say he was excited about the DLS was an understatement.

I’d love a Singer but by the time I can possibly afford one I reckon they’ll have stopped making the “budget” version and like RSVP and MDL would be hard to get one before a CGT.

Does make me think spending 20-25k upgrading a 996 is a very cheap option - hartec engine, Sports&Classic gearbox rebuild, Center Gravity suspension overhaul, exhaust and a few asthetic enhancements (oz wheels, momo etc) and you have a bullit proof every day useable 911.

Awaiting lotto funding grant!!

I’ve read some stuff on line about early owners shipping their cars back to Singer to have bits upgraded to later spec... including replacing the 3.8 engine with a shiny new 4.0.

The DLS looks fabulous, but personally I’d have a ‘regular’ one.
