Now in the field by the A30 where the spotting geeks gather daily.

I was hoping this thread would be lots of people watching ADS-B Exchange finding interesting dots to watch, I’m very disappointed.

FWIW there’s a RAF RC135 on final approach at Waddington.

If any of the reports are like the trainspotting live ( and also the presenting)

We will be having Tridents landing at Leavesden. Sunderland flying boats over the Solent etc
Yep, he was hopeless on Trainspotting Live. Just came across as doddering and incompetent.
Well, at least he's consistent. That was a shambles.

I gave up after five minutes. It was so bad I began to wonder if it was deliberate.

I'd like to start a crowdfunding account for Eric MC. When he eventually passes away, if he sees or they ever repeat this program, the Pistonheads collective may have to buy several large restraints to stop the over-rotation in his grave.

What a missed opportunity.

Talk about dumbed down TV...
Sounds like I was lucky to miss this smile

You Tube is the best place for such stuff these days.

It was entertaining but for all the wrong reasons!

Cringing watching Peter's making primary school playground jokes over "Fokker" - even Snow was agast at that one, pathetic.

Felt really sorry for the pilot who, after a lifetime of flying, could have added some really interesting insight (like the Dash-8 taxying on one engine - not mentioned) but who was constantly cut short. Couple of the spotters at Heathrow could have made quite good presenters I reckon with such subject knowledge.

Still, a bit of a sucker for this kind of stuff so will probably watch the next one!

Yes Eric, Don't bother catching up on i-player or anything. The Harrier program on before it was OK though...

After all the great Apollo stuff the Beeb has shown over the past few weeks, it's sad that this has been so inept.

TV works best when the presenters are truly knowledgeable about the subject matter - and not just TV "heads" who are dropped in purely because they are a known face.

I watched the whole thing. It was absolutely horrendous. Andi Peters was like that super-annoying kid at school and Peter Snow came across like a bumbling old fool. The other presenters were barely tolerable. I think this programme would have been much better if it hadn't have been live. I know that kind of defeats the whole point, but the actual live shots of airplanes just seemed desperate (especially focusing on the Flybe Dash-8) and accounted for nothing worthwhile. The pre-recorded segments were at least decent and where the show was OK.

Overall, it was extremely awkward and cringeworthy to watch live. Planespotting is a nice little hobby especially if you're into photography, but watching this programme in front of others made me feel sad and embarrassed to be enthusiastic about aviation.

Back in 1986, BBC spent a week at Heathrow covering all aspects of airline travel as it was back then. That was quite good and included lots of live segments. Maybe they need to look back at their archives to see how good things could be.

I didn't realise it was so soon. I sent them some photos of the An225 when it wa at East Mids a few yeards back....so if they use them they might not be so live!
Just shown a pic of it credited to John Gregory
Not my one then. A woman on the local spotters group was also after credit.

That would have been music to Andy Peters’ ears.

I forced myself to watch it to the bitter end this morning. Oh dear, oh dear, it seemed to have been aimed at 8-10 year olds yet was transmitted at 8 pm. I felt sorry for the lady pilot must have been very embarrassed at some of the comments from Peters and Snow, does their inanity know no bounds?

There was one enjoyable segment however, the footage from Queen's Building, from an era when I was often there. Does anyone know the source of it?

How old was the Queen's Building footage?

I haven't seen the programme and, based on what people are saying here, I won't be searching it out.
