I reckon someone on PH will know, if not, then you need Prewarcar.com or The Automobile magazine.

Possibly a Berliet.
(My first thoughts were Simplex, Chadwick or early Buick) but I don't think so.

I'm not sure what it is, but it was registered in Surrey (P being allocated to Surrey in the original registration system of 1903)

OK, looked thru a fair number from that era

One of the few distinctive aspects that I can make out from the pic are the mudguards
The only make so far that has similar to this are from 'Thomas' eg:
https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23977/lot/37/
https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21392/lot/138/

but these don't match up to the rest of it

I think it is a Mercedes. Ignore everything but the radiator and chassis, I think the proportions are right

Not my photo, obviously.

Well I think that's the closest we've got. Looks very similar at the front. What do you think that light coloured vertical pipe thingie is in my photo? On the right before the scuttle / dashboard?

I really dont know, sorry. I think the things to compare are the radiator, chassis dumb irons and bonnet, and maybe the wheels and front axle if you can see them.
