I often go to one of the aforementioned Asian wholesalers quite often and see the likes of the Crucial sauce bottles mentioned earlier.

Happy to pick a bottle up and get it up to you OP for 'analysis'...

I've not had rusholme chippy sauce, however, I am familiar with the delicious luminous red condiment you get to accompany kebas and pakora etc.

I made a good approximation of it with a sriracha sauce (flying goose brand) and heinz ketchup. (You could dilute it down further with water, vinegar, lemon juice, add mint to taste).

This is another one suggested to me: chilli powder, ketchup, mint sauce, sea salt and water to dilute. (optional; garam masala or cumin powder).

For those suggesting Crucial extra hot chilli sauce, I find it a little different from kebab sauces, and I use it as an extra ingredient in chili-con carne, as opposed to a dip or accompaniment. Again though, I'm not familiar with rusholme chippy sauce, therefore YMMV.

Doesn't look like the RC sauce in your pic but this is the stuff that 90% of babbys buy and use

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chefs-Larder-Chilli-Sauce...

It's good stuff, but do prefer the home made vats of sauce some of the better ones have

Well anyone who visits now won't recognise the place. Food similar but naan wasn't freshly made and kebabs are a lot smaller.

End of an era frown

Do they still have them hung up in that 50 year old fridge?

Relative to the plate, the kebabs look roughly the same size... it's the naan that is much bigger in the first pic causing the illusion.

Hi Rollin
I have searched for this for years without success.
I have even asked Sam the owner once who smiled and said it’s secret. I know it has the following in it from a conversation with another kebab shop that makes it similar - oils vinegar lemon chilli powder black pepper and cumin.
