Or perhaps the grant is for cars under 35k.. so it’s £5350 over it.
Ah is it? Oops! That makes more sense then.

ETA: Ah of course £40k is the "luxury car" tax threshold for ICE vehicles isn't it. It'd be far too much to expect consistency from the government in setting their thresholds. smile

Saw one on the road yesterday - smaller than I had expected and much better looking than photos suggest.

I was liking it until I got the part in Carwow Mat’s review about the ride being all over the place as the suspension tries to deal with the massive weight of the batteries. That may be a slight exaggeration but it was enough to put me off.

I used to enjoy the Carwow reviews, but recently Mat has devolved into classic YT over-statement and cliche in pursuit of click-bait titles and commentary. Plus his continued provision of airspace to knobbish serial supercar-lease Insta tts began to grate...so unsubscribed.

Plus his recent smug, self-satisfied YT ordering of a Tesla Model S Plaid+ (£135k) made me like him even less - a long way from his much more interesting videos of the problems with his tired old 911.

Agree completely. That, his obsession with straight line performance and an ad every 2 mins. He’s become part journalist and part ‘social media influencer’ the later of which I have zero time for.

I watch Carwow reviews and I've never seen any of what you describe, so I assume it happens in the drag race videos, which I've never watched because I'm not twelve.

The very frequent ads are annoying. I’m almost tempted to sort out the VPN workaround for the cheap YouTube Premium subscription to get rid of them. I’m not prepared to pay £14.99 to lose them, but I don’t mind throwing a few Pesos at the problem.

Just download the AdBlock plugin for free for your preferred browser if you're watching on a PC/Laptop. The only time I have to tolerate adverts is when I'm on the mobile. It's annoying enough with product placements and adverts within videos, without having extra cr*p to watch before every single video and interrupting half way through anything remotely interesting.

Matt has just become tiring and seems to spout utter rubbish the majority of the time - Watch the new Hyundai Tucson review and he basically claims that every element of the car is 'poached' from another car, I was amazed when he didn't say that it had copied the Model T Ford by having four wheels.
There also seems to be a huge bias towards german cars regardless of the actual quality/features/price of the other cars being reviewed... It's all a little odd.

Now, to see more about the XYZ, click on the pop-up banner in the top right-hand corner... Or the other one on the left, or that third one over in the bottom right-hand corner. Got all those captions etc turned off to avoid the bombardment of pop-ups/suggestions.

That's a really niche market. I'm surprised they bother filming them at all.

I do have AdBlock on my desktop but most of my YouTubing is via my iPad where it’s ads ahoy! It must have been one every three minutes on the Carwow Mach-e video, and plenty of the 15 second unskippable ones as well.

Not that niche it seems...

The drag race videos seem to generate more than twice the views of the review videos

As for the Mustang I thoughts carwow review seemed pretty negative to me? Personally I don’t mind the look of the exterior but the interior looks horrible to me and I don’t particularly want fake engine noise in an EV

You can turn it off.

The interior is too touch screen-heavy for my taste, but that just seems to be the way the market is going.

Quite happy with touchscreens to be honest, its just the rest looks cheap and nasty to me, might seem different in person, not that im in the market, im more than happy with the Polestar.

Ford just can't seem to get it right with the Mach-E. First a recall for loose subframe bolts, now this.

It's a new car using a technology they have little or no experience of. IMO it doesn't really matter if they have a few issues and recalls as long as they deal with them properly, both in terms of supporting the early adopters and in terms of improving the cars going forwards. Whether that will be the case, remains to be seen.

Just spotted one in silver on the road, followed it for a while then overtook to have a good look. Very disappointing IMHO. I liked the look of them in all the reviews but in the flesh it was taller than I was expecting, much taller and much uglier. Personal taste obviously but a real let down, granted a better more interesting color might help.

Drove past my local Ford dealer yesterday and thought I would pop in to see if they had a Mustang in the showroom. Yes they did in black with grey wheels.

I have to say I thought it looked stunning in that colour combo, lower than I expected and to me they seem to have the styling spot on.

Maybe just seen a replacement for my Macan??
