Anybody ever dealt with Bramley before? Gave them a call when everything first kicked off to express an interest in a few cars and asked about any movement on price in light of corona. Fairly attitudey reply that the same thing happened in 2008 and the market kept going, they were still selling cars and the prices were as advertised. Admittedly that was pre-lockdown but haven't bothered to call back since.
I've wondered about Bramley; they sell some quite nice looking stuff. Though some of their photos look like they're taken on a country estate, others on a Croydon car lot.Bramley by and large sell the best examples you can find but you do pay a premium for that - they've been around long enough and Simon is a proper car nut and savvy with it too - he's got one of the few Manual 599s in his own collection.
My own view is that even with the calibre of car he sells, the prices are a little strong, but there must be some people who've kept him in business over the years!

They aren’t the only one, there’s a company up north ss something or other who consistently over price their cars, compared to the market ....yet they are still in business and turning over stock so .....who knows! When I was looking very actively last summer, I went to Bramley motors a couple of times, each time walked around for 20 mins plus and didn't see a single salesman the first time so left. About 15 mins in to my second visit about 3 weeks later, saw a guy out the back who said he would get someone to come and have a chat to me...10mins later no one did. Saw the guy again and said he was finishing up a call and would be with me shortly. Still no one came so I left all my details and that I was very keen on the GT3 they had out front - never heard back from them - doubt I'll ever be bothering with them again

Simon is a good guy and importantly an honest chap to deal with. His cars are excellent examples, and yes they are expensive! Given who his father is, he is fairly insulated from the woes that most other will have to face which allows him to trade on his principles. I would hesitate to buy from him if he had I wanted and I could live with the price. I cut and pasted the following from the PH Porsche section of the forum, posted today. I haven’t investigated further and taken it at face value; maybe others know better and could comment but I thought it may be an interesting indicator of the current market and what is going behind the scenes. Ie, prices are lower than a year ago but dealers will still only take some off, in this instance only about 7.5% off their advertised price, which seems fairly normal?
Still very early days in this situation yet though.

Ashgood listed a 2000MY 996 Turbo, manual, 83k at £27k
According to their social media it's sold at £25k
Wasn't the going rate for that sort of thing £35k ish not too long ago?
Although I remember when they were £20k and should have bought one then

Me today that the value of 6 figure plates ‘always goes up’
People have short memories and spout some rubbish about values going up
Like people that thing rolex watches can only go up
There’s a recession coming and I think that’s pretty much widely accepted yet some people think cars are going up. When Richard Branson has to effectively hock up Neckar island most of the non billionaires will struggle too
A bloke I was speaking to the other day told me how he felt the values of his Porsche’s was going up whilst in his next sentence told me how many of his commercial tenants had missed their rent payments to him this month!

I know of an 812 SF being bought today for £210k, one owner car 2,000 miles mint condition.
Crazy but i bet that auction car goes for more.As for Bramleys, it's a beautiful almost antique showroom with some proper beautiful cars and as others have said been trading for years.
Phone again in a few months time though.

So they don’t do hard sell.If it was something special, not so common ,and they had a car I liked,I would make sure I was seen .
Nothing is going to change dramtically whilst we're in the current vacuum.
All the time the JRS scheme is paying employees £2,500 and a large proportion of their outgoings are on hold we're in a kind of stasis.
The CBILS loan scheme is currently an absolute shambles. So businesses that were marginal beforehand will die quickly. Sound businesses will make it through. The tough time lies for businesses that fall somewhere in between those two.
Company Directors and the self employed have been pretty much left to their own devices. I own an ecommerce business that supplies a niche part of the construction industry. A month ago our sales were 70% down on normal, This week we're 20% up on normal. Many of our small customers have simply decided to go back to work as they are getting no assistance.
However, no one is going out and spending money, mortgages are on hold along with a lot of other direct debits.
The main course of the crunch won't actually hit until we start to try and reopen all these businesses and the goverment funding is cut off. All the furloghed staff will then start to find out if they have a job to return to. Customers are unlikely to return to service businesses such as pubs, restaurants, takeaways, health clubs and luxury retailers (including cars showrooms) through a combination of fear of infection and saving resources.
Any businesses that were just about able to survive on the Gov help will then find out if they can continue without it.
Sit tight and wait till autumn. Nothing to see here now.

Great place , for sure they have only the best, certainly not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Bramley - as others have commented a long standing company selling top of the tree cars. I recall calling in back in 1988 to view a Daytona Spider they had on sale at £125k - totally out of my price range, but the owners were brilliant. Then nipped down the road to the Grayshott MotorCompany who had a 250 Lusso for sale at a more bargain price of £60k!!
