I have a 997.1 & the horn seems to have gone on the blink. It is now a mono ‘high’ tone & sounds like a Noddy car. frown Does it need a new horn or is there a more simple solution? scratchchin

Must be a fairly common Porsche issue. Both of the cars I had PPI’d had the same issue..

my 991 horn failed last month, got the mono tone sad beep

all it took was a new horn and wiring adapter (part upgrade) at £88 from an OPC

remove front bumper and refit failed item.

easy if you know how!

easy if you can get the front of the car up in the air to unscrew all the screws and watch YouTube video on how to do it.

IIRC there are two horns, one low, one high. One of them failing is a fairly common issue.
I read post on here or Rennlist about an owner removing the offending horn and fixing it by tweaking the adjustment screw. But most owners just buy a replacement.

Edit to add link.

It will be going to my Indie to get fixed. Not a chance am I taking the bumper off, it would end up needing a respray headache

Porsches have two horns a high note and low note. They are fitted at the front of the car and collect water and this kills them.
You can buy the parts from Porsche, but you can buy better parts from Ebay or such like. Pretty easy to replace, just take the front bumper off and whilst there clean out the leaves from your rads.
I am a numpty and managed this with the help of my daughter.
