I just looked at my wallet in response to something on the thread below about wallets, and realised I have way too much crap in mine.

4 debit cards (1 expired a year ago!)
2 credit cards
Easyjet plus (expired!)
Museum membership
Parkrun barcode
Health insurance
Chipkarte (local equivalent of Oyster)
Driving licence
ID
Supermarket loyalty card
2 stamp cards from coffee shops

So 13 full sized cards, 1 keytag sized one, and 2 bits of stiff card rather than plastic

I need to have a clear out. Anyone else as bad?

Stopped carrying a wallet years ago. I have been caught out only once in a shop that couldn't take contactless, but that was some time ago. I doubt there's anywhere (and certainly nowhere critical) that I can't swipe my phone now.

I keep all my store cards in the stocard app.

In Debrett's Guide for the Modern Gentleman it states a gentleman should have no more than three credit cards.

One wouldn't want to be seen paying with a vulgar debit card either I'd imagine.

I've got a secrid wallet, so in the main section I have:
3 x Debit (1 day to day, 1 joint account, 1 with a bit more money on)
1 x credit
1 x driving licence

Then in the sides I have:
CSCS site card
Office access card
Coffee shop stamps

All of my cards are on Apple Pay so rarely use them to pay with, but I just like having them with me just in case.

Having the money is vulgar, yet paying with a credit card is the sign of a gentleman? How did we get to a situation so messed up that debt is seen as the new being rich?

When I see people paying by credit card I just assume they are poor and don't have any money.

Since getting Garmin Pay I rarely carry mine either, hence why there's so much crap in there I guess, but got caught out recently as I needed ID as well my Covid app QR code to get in to the sport center to the use the loo the other week...so had to go an use a tree instead. hehe

Strange isn't it

Credit cards are relatively uncommon here, I think my standard credit limit is about a weeks salary. I only use for things like reserving a hotel on the phone, anything else is done by debit card (usually via Garmin Pay).

After being burgled back in August I've not bothered replacing half the crap.

2 credit (Amex, Barclaycard Visa for non-Amex accepting and overseas spend)
2 debit (joint and my sole account)
driving license
2 x £1 coins in case need a trolley at LIDL when doing a beer run (well worth it) and drop the first one down a drain (genuine life lesson)

Cleaned mine out a couple of months ago.
Thought it was long overdue after I found a Blockbuster Video membership card in there.

I just checked, about a dozen receipts (none of which I need), 1 train ticket (from September) and half a dozen notes, so not quite that bad biggrin

Walletless since smartphone ownership.
Old enough to have a proper folding leather case so I can carry £100 odd emergency/tipping money.
Only have one card saved on my phone, a debit card from my spending account.
Buying on tick is definitely for the poor and foolhardy.

Two wallets

One that sticks to the back of my phone. With two cards. A debit and an Amex (both in Euros)

UK Wallet (I live in the UK and Ireland) One Debit, one UK Amex and driving License and national trust membership card.

It would have been dozens more if it weren't for apps that can store things like loyalty cards and memberships.
