Wife and I trying to find something to watch last night.

Came across this on iPlayer. Not a huge fan of Westerns but we did the...'let's just watch one episode and see'

4 episodes in...its good stuff. Very well written and directed with some great performances (Timothy Spall pops up and is amazing )

Totally gripped with a good soundtrack.

Anybody looking to stary watching somehting would highly recommend

I wonder whether the writer ever watched Godless. Single empowered white woman, stranger with skills arrives to help her, serious baddies etc Hmm
Having said that I'll give it a try, I like a good Western.

Very enjoyable. Well written, directed and some excellent acting from all the cast that includes Emily Blunt, Toby Jones and Ciarhan Hinds although the later two didn’t last long. A real insight into a very different west usually portrayed. Some of it is quite unpleasant and as for Black Eyed Mog. !!!!

It’s Rafe Spall not Timothy btw.

Watched the first one last night, pretty good so far showing the lawless nature of the west.

Yep. Very silly but very well done.

Also, I also love the score (even though the harmonies and chord sequence are a rip from the film 'The Terminal'). Someone had to do it and it's done really well.

A bit over-dramatic and silly (especially episode 4) but pretty enjoyable overall.

After reading the positive reviews on here I decided to give this a go. I'm only 2 episodes in but I'm loving it so far.

I've watched it all & there are parts of the plot that I don't understand; particular in the last episode.

I won't ask question here as that will raise spoilers.

You can put a spoiler tag around your question.

It's in the 'Formatting Help' link when you post a reply smile

Finally got round to watching the final 2 episodes. It was pretty damn good and thanks to the OP for this thread otherwise it would have passed me by.

No problem. Have watched so many good things from recommendations on here it's nice to be able to give a heads up for a change.

Have this lined up purely because Ciaran Hinds is in it.

He's one of those top drawer actors who can actually act, but gets very little fanfare.

Indeed, but be aware he is only in it briefly but it's still worth watching.

If you have not seen "Man in a Hat" starring Ciaran Hinds (the wife wanted to buy a classic Fiat 500 after seeing the film), I'd recommend it. Strange but weirdly brilliant.

Definitely quirky, but yeah, a nice film.

Really tried to like it but I’m afraid I gave up after two episodes.
