rFactor tip #1 = rear view mirrors - seeing your own car
Discussion
I never knew about this one, but now I've found it I like it
You can turn on your own car in your wing mirrors, so if you are in an F1 car you see your own rear wheel and wing see below
It is turned on in your PLR file by editing this line -
Self In Cockpit Rearview="0" // add values for any that should be visible (0=none): 1=rear wing & wheels, 2=body & susp, 4=cockpit, 8=steering wheel (15=all)
I use "1", bare in mind if you are then racing a saloon car with a rear wing (like V8Factor) the wing will appear in your centre rear view mirror unless you change the PLR line again back to "0" This is a fully animated rear view, wheels go round, wing disappears if you get it damaged and it falls off.
Plus I have removed any mirror.bmp from my vehicles folder as I found they were not giving the correct mirror images for me, they were a bit of a fisheye reflection. If your mirrors don't look like mine above and you can't see your wheels properly even after adjusting the mirrors remove your mirror.bmp as well and test it.

Nice one, it works!
I had no idea about this OR the fact you can adjust the mirrors!
I just used to move the seat and live with the view it gave me lol.
On a side note, i couldn't find a single mirror.bmp in rfactor.
Is there any reason why you would have one and i appear not to
mate?
Thanks for the info anyway

I had a high resolution mirror.bmp for better clearer images for the F1 79demo. When the full version was released some people said that they had FPS problems with that and a lower res mirror.bmp was made. I think the mirror field of view wasn't right for my screen res so I discarded it and everything is as it should be

jeez lighten up buddy. where hardly discussing "software piracy", just trying to figure out how i might get my hands on it.
Tis a fair point Dave's making though, although I've often wondered if my copy of Neverwinter is legal... legit CD keys from my own copies (now scratched beyond use) and a bunch of .iso files I install from. Anyway, debate, another time as they say
But anyway to answer your question, pop over to the rFactor site with your Visa/MC/Amex. Hand over the cash and it'll let you download the game... I'm not sure what format the download is in (i.e one big .exe or a .iso you can burn) and your laughing.
I think 'boxed copy' is an optional extra for rFactor... at least that's my impression from quickly looking at how much it is and how I get it.
