Part 6: Other British Marques.

This is a catch-all category for cars which haven't appeared in the previous threads.

1959 Berkeley Sports SE328.
Berkeley was Britain's leading caravan (camper) maker in the 1950's. In 1956, Laurie Bond approached Charles Panter of Berkeley Caravans with his new design for a sports car. It was an ideal project for Berkeley who had developed considerable skills in the use of fibreglass and were looking for something to fill the gaps in the very seasonal caravan market. This compact sports car had a fibreglass body and is powered by a small (328 cc) two-stroke motorbike engine that drives the front wheels. Transmission was a three-speed motorcycle type with a chain drive to a three-plate disc clutch. Top speed was 75 MPH. Original price was $1,695. 1,272 examples of the SE328 were built between 1956 and 1961, with approximately 551 of those exported to the United States.

1975 Reliant Ant (TW9)
The TW9 was initially designed for export to Greece and other Mediterranean and Middle East countries. Due to it's versatility, it also found a following in Britain. The Ant is based on a Reliant Regal 3/28 chassis and running gear. It has a load capacity of 896 pounds. This pick-up version has a one-piece fibreglass cab and was also available as a road sweeper, van, water tanker, garbage truck and snowplough. Produced from 1967 to 1987, the TW9 had a 700 cc alloy engine, a four speed gearbox and a top speed of 55 MPH.
