it only happens in 2nd gear though and only sometimes..
does it happen all the time?
Seriously! I took the egr valve apart last night it was full of sticky black carbon, i cleaned it out a bit. That didnt make any difference though and i had the injectors re calibrated at the weekend that didnt help!
I read somewhere i could be the turbo hose but i have no idea!
My mpg seems to have fallen aswell

the turbo hose could be the problem, excess turbo whistly is usual the sign, i had a slightly leak a few years ago to fix it they fitted a new clip and tightened. the drop in performance was quite small though, probably picked up the problem early on before it got any worse.I read somewhere i could be the turbo hose but i have no idea!

i have fixed the power loss at 3K. i serviced the car 1 week ago (my self not dealers). according the service menu i didn't need a airfilter. after changing the oil and pollen filter i had a look at the airfilter which was er full of crap. i'm not sure when the air filter was last replaced since its always been serviced at the dealers i will check my service records tonight. i hovered out as much of the dust and dirt as possible and refitted. to my suprise the powerloss has disappeared! going to fit a new airfilter this evening though.
also of interest changing the oil has made a huge difference, i had done just under 13K since the previous service and for the last 4K miles i have noticed the engine had got louder and started to sound more like a diesel. changing the oil has made the engine quieter and much more responsive.
