Tuned Scirocco Police Car

Scirocco gets cop livery to promote safe tuning

It’s a beautiful thing when two opposing worlds collide and embrace each other. Take this VW Scirocco for example; it brings the world of tuning and law enforcement together in one big motoring oxymoron. The car is the new symbolic 2009 TUNE IT! SAFE! Polizei vehicle which makes its debut at the Essen Motor Show this month.

The TUNE IT! SAFE! initiative is a joint venture between the German Federal Ministry of Transport and VDAT eV (Association of Automobile Tuners in Germany) and is designed to promote awareness of safe automobile tuning.

Naturally the Scirocco features a number of super safe and cuddly tuning parts from VDAT member companies, such as the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 245/30 ZR 20 tyres. In addition to an appearance at the Essen Motor Show the Scirocco will tour other tuning fairs and events in its lovely blue-silver police livery.

its not just for scirocco owners wink

I think perhaps its for those young lads who cant afford £500 on coilovers, so just take a hacksaw to their springs instead!

rubbish! you can buy a set of top quality coilies off ebay for only £60!! what's more, they have 'generic spring rates' to offer high performance on a range of vehicle fitments, bargain!

In this country, yes, but that's not an English Police vehicle so they may have different laws. I agree though, would look much better just with Zenon headlights!

Bargain until the coils buckle and brake under stress condition because they use crap metal components, which then send you and the car flying off a bend at 80-mph into a tree. Bargain.

Again, those wheels are far to big for that kind of car, they must be what 18-19"? 15" is way enough maybe 16" at a push, otherwise it just looks like a chavved up car from SE London.

again, exactly the thing this car is designed to address.
