From the cover of the latest Complete Kit Car magazine it looks like the MEV Rocket's got pole position.

I guess Stuart's busy read reading the article as he's not posted anything in here so I've actually beat him to it !! woohoo

Great examples of what the British Car industry can produce

I believe the Murtaya was voted as the CKC Car of the Year 2008. Will of course be trying to find somewhere in Hampshire that sells CKC to read the full article but my sources are never wrong!

OK I found somewhere to buy it! For those of you in the area - I believe there is another prospective Murtaya owner in Basing-grad out there somewhere the newspaper shop near Tesco in Chineham stocks Complete Kit Car.
I now have a collection of Murtaya articles from various mags (most courtesy of Neil at Adrenaline!) I have yet to read anything less than a rave review which is extremely encouraging to say the least.
Roll on next years Murtaya convey to Europe!!

Top quote, +1.

Are not cover stories directly proportional to advertising space taken ratio ?

Nope. They're chosen on the basis of what we think will sell more copies. If you were to analyse CKC's covers since it started in 2007, you'll find no correlation between covers and advertising whatsoever.

And as MEV has been prominent on two covers in a row, I'm sure Stuart would back me up on that one hehe

Must admit I haven't exactly got CKC's advert salesman on speed dial! Must be a great place to advertise though because we get loads of enquiries following a feature, even when we only come second in a comp!
Our Sonic passed SVA today, a "Sonic7 road test" feature opportunity perhaps.

Sonic7 for CotY 2009?

Off Topic: There is the 'Zonta' Smart engined version of the Rocket, will there be a Smart based Sonic7? smile

I am not so sure a second in this kind of assessment can really be classed as an 'only'. I think all three deserve a big Xmassy thumbs up.
Congrats to all involved!

...I'm still having a Murtaya though!

For me the Rocket wins hands down of that three every time. The Murtaya is a fantastic car, but not for kit car money. The Fulcrum is a fantastic car, but why not buy Striker instead? The Rocket sums up what got me excited about kit cars in the first place. Power to the Mills elbow!

The photos were taken on day one, the driving was done on day two - so we didn't even know the winner when the cover shot was taken. The Murtaya was at the back because it had been on the front only two months previously, so it would have looked too much like November issue's cover to have it in the foreground...
