Hello all

I've got my car booked in on the 26th to have it's wheels refurbed (powder coated etc). They're really letting the car down now, what with chip, scrapes and peeling paint.

I've several options - they're being done at The Wheel Specialist in Leeds btw - that sort of float my boat...
- bog standard
- a slightly spanglier bog standard
- black chrome
- smoked chrome

Safest bet would be option 2, however the latter two interest me - they could look fantastic.

My car is this colour.... (click to enlarge these)

Standard....

Smoked Chrome (I do like this...)

Black Chrome...

I do like that smoked chrome (wheich is more of a "smoked silver" if you ask me, however I don't want to look "gangsta".

Any opinions from the PH massive - especially with regard to the way they'd go with the colour of my SL, which isn't run of the mill.

It just so happens I have pretty much the same AMG wheels on my CL, which I had refurbed in smoked chrome/polished edge last year ...

I found the original silver very bland. IMHO the car looks much better now ...

I agree with you about your CL, the wheels look MUCH better in smoked Chrome. Makes it look more CL65 ish.

After seeing the 2 CL pics, id definatley copy those for the OP's SL.

Thanks for the input - everyone else seems to say the same too.

One thing - my wheels are the ones actually pictured on the car (that's actually my car, for the colour reference), the wheels I've shown labelled "standard" is meaning standard colour.

I really don't want to cock this up. I think the smoked chrome jobbies could look utterly fab.

Thanks to those who posted - had them done yesterday in the smoked chrome.
They look better than I could have hoped - absolutely fantastic.

Big up to the Wheel Specialist in Leeds.
