Anyone know a good BMW Indy around Staffordshire, mine is due it's Insp 2 at 42000 Miles, and Im being quoted £1300 by the local dealer!!

The car has what it needs, however I think 10% plus of the value of it these days is a bit rich! I suppose it's how far you go to keep that magic stamp in the service history!

Scott.

No idea on indy's but phone around the BMW dealers as some will price match.

Dealer close to work M3 Insp 2 = 1250 + VAT
Dealer close to home = 1000 incl VAT

As mine's only got 38K miles I'd like to keep the dealer stamps in the book.

When I had mine I managed to get an Insp II done for around £780 all in. This included the oil which I provided myself. This was at BMW Old Windsor however. But worth haggling because they are quoting silly prices. You can get a V8 Vantage serviced for less than that.

I had my insp 2 done at the main dealers a couple of years back now and was charged £1100.When you look at the breakdown on the invoice over £600 of it was labour and they only had the car for a morning!

With my car now only worth around £14k i dont bother with the main dealers and use a local indy who do the same job with labour rates less than a third that of the main dealers.(£160 an hour plus vat last i heard!)

Having your car serviced at an indy is hardly going to affect the value of your car when you come to sell it so you may as well save yourself some money now.

I live in cheshire so dont know of anyone in your area.

Our Local BMW dealer quoted me Just over £600 for an inspection 2 on my E46 M3 early last year, they said they needed it overnight, and it was cheaper as it was over 4 years old.
Malton BMW. Worth staying a hotel up here and using them I saysmile

A good specialist should be ~£600. Make sure they take the car overnight as it can't be done properly when warm.

Mine - Z4MC - is booked with Sytner Harold whatever in Romford for Insp 2 at 44k miles for a grand total of £800 inc VAT. They even price matched the oil costs smile Murketts of Huntingdon will do it for the same amount - £800 inc VAT. Car has to be over 4yrs old. Cotswold BMW will do it for £825 inc VAT if car is over 4yrs old.

No idea about costs up Nor'f like. It's all a bit of a blur Norf of the M25, guvnor silly

Call your local Sytner dealership - when I had my Inspection 2 service done they price matched my local independent.
After 5 minutes on the phone Sytner High Wycombe gave me an Inspection 2 Service, Brake Fluid Change, Coolant Change, BMW Valet Service (which normally costs around £100, but free in my case) – all for around £800 including VAT.

The price listed on Sytner High Wycombe website is £810 including VAT without any discount;

When I had my car serviced they made sure that they looked after me, the salesman even sat me in my courtesy car and took me through all the functions. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Hope this helps
