real life gore and some very nasty stuff with accompanying patriotic narration.
incredibly it was made to get people to join the forces!
Is that the one where a pregnant woman is tortured and has her nipples cut off?
Or the one where they peel the guys skin off after a fuel dump was blown up and he was nearby?
the latter.

A few years ago i walked into the room where the wife was watching a film within minute Ray Winston was shagging his daughter well at least I think that was what was happening. i didn't watch anymore so no idea what film it was or anymore of the plot.
I can't imagine why they though being so graphic would help especially given the nature of the film.

Ha!

Cheers for the input guys.

Yes, I should have made it clear from the outset that I am not looking for an easy way to find dirty films, plenty of those on the net.

And, yes, I did mean mainstream.

In The Cut was shocking as wife and me did not know what to expect.

So when, within the first 10 minutes, Meg Ryan is peeking through a doorway and we get a close-up of an erect penis actually being sucked off, needless to say we were pretty speechless.

The guy in Blockbuster certainly did not tell me about that bit when he was describing its merits. Although he did have a certain 'glint' in his eye.....

How can you say that? Police Academy 7 (Mission to Moscow) is one of my favourite films for example.

yes For a 'mainstream' film, that was about as unexpectedly explicit as it gets without being classified as porn. It's also now quite difficult to watch Margo Stilley as Steve Coogan's girlfriend in 'The Trip' with the knowledge of her 'acting performance' in 9 songs (google Margo Stilley with safe search off & you'll see what we're on about)

'A Serbian Film' is the most messed up thing I've seen. Very very hard to watch, especially a certain seen involving.... I can't bring myself to type it on here. but read the plot on wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Serbian_Film

Makes Irreversible look like a disney film about family planning.

I've seen that too and I don't consider it an arthouse film as some people (namely the director) do. Given that the two actresses were already porn stars it is basically a porn film dressed up with slightly more plot. Terrible movie.

Sure, but I think the OP meant for there to be an element of mainstream in this, as in how much can they get away with and keep it mainstream popular. At least by my interpretation.

Yes.

I was aiming for either "Hmm, this sounds good....<insertdisc>...OH MY DEAR GOD!" or "I know this has a reputation, let's try it.....hmm. Was not expecting that."

Scenes that are cut out of a film in order to get a certificate from the bbfc are not illegal to watch either, just illegal to sell. It's only actually illegal to watch if the scene contravenes something like the protection of children act.
