Hi,
I've just bought a removable towbar for my 2005 Range Rover Sport and I know it's supposed to a simple installation job, but does anybody have any fitting instructions?

On a 2008...
first take off the cover at the bottom of the rear bumper, then take out the red blanking plug which is in the slot for the tow bar, push the tounge of the towbar into the hole until it clicks i turn the key on the side of the towbar and take the key out. thats it, easier to do than to say.

Link to the owners info site where you can find a manual for your car in PDF format. the info is on page 57-62 with the info you are looking for on page 60

Maybe I should have made my post a bit clearer, it was the wiring installation that I was after fitting instructions for.
I didn't realise it was so easy to fit the actual towbar though
Cheers

If the process is the same as for a Disco 3 then you
i) Remove/loosen rear light pods (assuming you have twin electrics?)
ii) Fit wiring sockets beside the tow bar
iii) thread wiring up from the sockets under the car and up through grommets etc to the back of the light pods.
iv) Plug in and refit lights.
v) beer.

It will be in here:

http://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/i18n/index

Takes 30 mins with careful use of a few obscenities

The hardest bit is removing the rear cluster

You will need a screwdriver

IIRC theres something the dealer does to flash the software to justify the 120 quid at least they charge for the job
I think it disables the parking sensors but cant recall 100%

Go for it

I found the instructions on the link from Alicatt, but after pulling it to pieces it turns out I've got the loom from a Discovery so will have to put it back together then pull it apart again another daymad

The disco loom should be ok

There is confusion even with LR dealers about the loom

Most will sell you the twin N and S electrics or more likely say they are out of stock
If you have an antiquated trailer or shhhhh caravan LOL you will need the old UK standard twin

However the EU standard has been single for ages as are most recent caravans and trailers anyway

Cheers

PS I do NOT have a caravan but do tow
