The London Cab has been 'federalized'. London Taxis North America is now importing cabs and have sold 125 cars in New York, Boston, LA and Detroit. First deliveries take place next month.
The cabs are being sold to taxi firms and to private individuals. Two models are available: the "Civilized Taxi" for normal taxi duties and the "London Executive Sedan" for the private market.
The vehicles will come as quite a surprise to many in America who are used to huge yellow cabs with cramped interiors.
The spec is similar to UK spec cabs with a 2.4 litre turbo diesel engine, a tight turning circle, independent passenger heating/air con and vomit proof seats.
