2015 would actually be a perfect time for Ferrari to launch its rumoured
Le Mans comeback
. Amazingly it would be 50 years since its last victory at the 24 Hours in a 250LM. This was of course the time of the GT40 also, which took its four consecutive wins immediately after the 250 from '66 until '69.
So now seemed the right time to revisit that legendary 250. Fortunately, the guys at DK Engineering recently had chassis #6045 for a restoration and, considerate lads that they are, filmed the finished car at Millbrook.
This video is all about the noise. This is good, as it appears to have been filmed through a very dark lens that dulls even the driver's prancing horse cufflinks. Unfortunately, just as it's getting exciting, the minute is up and you're left craving another V12 hit. A short and sweet one then, but rather joyous all the same.
