The Goodwood Breakfast Clubs are free, open-to-all celebrations of automobiles on the famous Goodwood Circuit. Each Sunday morning meet has a theme, from the JDM Sushi Sunday to the convertible only Soft Top Sunday - there is probably any event for anyone's tastes.
The highlight of the Breakfast Club calendar, personally at least, would have to be last month's Supercar Sunday. The variety and sheer extent of the cars on display never fails to amaze. This year's event took place on May 7th and I was there by 7am to catch the cars arriving.
Stand out cars would have to include, first and foremost, the McLaren P1 LM. The very car that recently set the Nurburgring record was in attendance, enormous wing included... A normal P1 was seen kicking about somewhere, although I'm not sure it got much attention in the shadow of its lighter, more powerful brother. After that it's all fairly average really (!): Lamborghini Miuras, a blue carbon Bugatti Veyron Vitesse, an F40 LM surrounded by at least six 'standard' F40s, an Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato (I challenge you to name a more beautiful modern car), a Peugeot 205 GTI Dimma, and a Pagani Huayra.
The next Breakfast Club meet is Classic Car Sunday on August 6th, and such is the popularity of the events that organisers have been forced to introduce tickets, albeit still free, to limit numbers. So make sure to show your interest early to avoid disappointment!
