Against all the odds, December was a very good month for supercars in London. I've said it previously, and it's still true now - the calm of the winter, with fewer garishly wrapped and modified Aventadors from the Middle East or Essex, allows the more refined and sophisticated exotica to come out of hiding.
A prime example of this is surely the McLaren F1. How often do you see an F1 in the street? However, this month I managed to catch McLaren F1 chassis #69 out and about! This is the exact car that Chris Evans drove on the last series of Top Gear, and recently sold for around £10 million...
Equally cool is a 1962 Shelby 260 AC Cobra spotted in Mayfair. This car has featured in films and has even been driven by Miss Universe, Steve McQueen and Frank Sinatra. It wears the letter 'T' as it was used as a trainer car at the Carol Shelby School of High Performance Driving.
At the complete other end of the scale in the realm of the hypercar is the Koenigsegg Agera RS Naraya. This car is rumoured to be the most expensive Koenigsegg ever made, finished throughout in blue carbon and gold leaf. The Naraya is one of 25 Agera RSs and was the first to be delivered to a customer in Europe. Sticking with the theme of hypercars, a Lamborghini Veneno has also been spotted. In my opinion, although I'm sure many of you will find it vulgar, the Veneno is the coolest and most out of this world car to have ever come to London. The car is currently on display in Lamborghini London, and it's the first time the Veneno - of which there are only four in the world - has been to the UK.
Other highlights include a Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider parked with an Aston Martin V12 Zagato on Bond Street, the incredibly menacing blacked out Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman and finally the brand new Aston Martin Vanquish S, making an appearance in London for the first time.
