This weekend the FIA GT Championship kicks off, so to usher in the new season we thought we’d give you a quick preview of the stunning new Wiesmann GT MF5 safety car.
Made from an all fibre glass body over an aluminium monocoque chassis, the Wiesmann GT MF5 uses a BMW sourced 5.0-litre V10 engine producing 500bhp and 383lb ft of torque. Power is transferred through a 7-speed sequential ‘box and variable locking differential.
Its relatively light kerb weight of 1380kg should help the MF5 stay comfortably ahead of the pack in front of the likes of Aston Martin, Porsche and Ferrari throughout the series, and with a top speed of 193mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.9sec the Wiesmann is certainly no slouch.
If you want to see the Wiesmann GT MF5, hopefully not in action, then the first round starts on Sunday, 3 May at Silverstone.
