Jag to celebrate birth of Sir William Lyons
September 4th 2001 will be the centenary of the birth of Sir William
Lyons and to celebrate this anniversary Jaguar Cars will organise a seven
day historic car rally (2nd-9th September inc) from Blackpool to Coventry.
While there will be competitive elements in the rally, not all
entrants will wish to take part in these sections, so alternative
activities will be organised suitable for all vehicles regardless of their
age.
It is proposed to accept 100 entries, to represent the whole model
range produced by Jaguar Cars from motor bikes fitted with Swallow Side
Cars, a range of early Swallow and SS cars to the post war saloons, the XK,
E types and XJ range through to the latest models.
Entries are invited for the 'Sir William Lyons Rally' from owners of
Jaguar cars. The cost of the event is £1950 per car carrying two people,
this covers all costs including invitations to the renowned 'Jaguar
Charity Ball'.
Entries will be selected on type of vehicle, otherwise first come first
served.
