World Championship rally driver, Alastair McRae will be just one of the stars
at the second Rally Supercar Day at Castle Combe Circuit on Saturday (July
27th).
McRae is one of the works Mitsubishi drivers competing in the World Rally
Championship and is the brother of Colin McRae, the former World Rally Champion.
His Mitsubishi Evolution is one of the most popular cars for rally
enthusiasts with over 80 examples on display at the event last year. This year,
the Mitsubishis will be joined by 20 other car clubs, with 40 Audi Quattros
alone in attendance, having their own dedicated track parade.
Other stars due to appear are ex Top Gear presenter, Tony Mason, who will be
interviewing McRae and many of the other drivers taking part in the 'Feature
Rally Stage' one of the most popular aspects of last year's event. Legendary
Mini exponent, Paddy Hopkirk, and the late Roger Clark's son, Oliver, together
with the MG Xpower Extreme Rally team are other attractions.
Besides numerous other displays, parades, trade stands and every type and
kind of rally car from the last 30 years, there's the chance to drive your own
car on the circuit, provided it is in-keeping with the theme of the day. A six
lap track pass costs £20.
