Many will already know SG54 from its appearances in Evo's Fast Fleet and followed with interest its rebirth after it came off the track at high speed and 'argued disastrously with an oak tree' back in 2012. Since then, the chassis and roof had to be re-aligned with computer-aided jigs, taking weeks to pull it into place.
The engine has had the top end rebuilt three times, the last one just before the incident that put it out of action. Owner Simon has taken his time with this project wanting to return it back to the standard spec when the Lamborghini was new in 2004. Major components were rebuilt, the interior replaced, the dashboard re-trimmed in Alcantara with orange stitching among other things to make it look fresh. Last week, it went for an MoT and SG54 is soon off to Sardinia to follow the route from the 1977 Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.
It will be used as a daily driver commuting 180 miles a day, with an aim to hit 300,000 miles within a year. Oh and Simon is certain that it will never go near another track again. Read the full updates on the rebuild here.
