Wales Rally GB 2015 kicks off next month, starting from Llandudno on November 12 and finishing just down the road in Deeside on November 15. As you probably already know, PH will be there courtesy of a
Sunday Service
at Llandudno on November 15 and there's PH interest too in the shape of Tony Jardine's Group N
Mitsubishi Evo IX
. Also joining the fun will be Haymarket colleague Lizzie Pope, co-driving the number 252 Vauxhall Corsa with James Newbould and joining a
diverse field
featuring everything from a Hillman Avenger to the inevitable Subaru Imprezas and Ford Escorts. We'll be hearing about both their experiences on the event and - if their schedule permits - will hopefully be seeing them at Sunday Service too.
Another entrant PH is looking out for!
And this is the beauty of the event; from privateers like Lizzie to World Rally Championship stars from the world over, WRGB and the Network Q WRGB National Rally that follows in its tyre tracks both have packed entry lists. According to a suitably chuffed sounding press release from the organisers, 78 cars representing 22 countries will be competing the 19 stages of the main event. This is apparently the biggest international entry in years and, boasts the release, "underlines the event's escalating esteem since its successful move to a new base in north Wales in 2013." Recently crowned WRC champion Sebastien Ogier will be looking to put his Polo on the top of the podium to make it three victories on the trot; those attempting to spoil his party will include teammate and former winner Jari-Matti Latvala, not to mention Kris Meeke and Elfyn Evans who've both had strong seasons so far.
Add to that the 85 cars and crews of the National Rally and you have a spectacle worth tramping through a Welsh forest for. The WRGB website has all the info you need to plan your trip, including a stage-by-stage breakdown with information on timings, parking and exactly how far you'll need to hike to get to the best spectator spots.
