TVR Power's supercharger installation
TVR Power, together with automotive design consultancy Autodesign, is offering a supercharger upgrade for V8s -- serpentine or pre-serpentine -- that could boost your Rover engine's power to 500bhp.
Two options are on offer, both using a Rotrex centrifugal supercharger, whose advantages are said to be reliability, smooth power delivery and quietness. Both add secondary sealing between the cylinder head and block to withstand the increased combustion pressures, a new cam with revised profiles, and a new, optimised air induction system.
The SC500 C30 option adds over 50bhp with, said TVR Power, minimal change as the performance increase is within the limitations of the engine and drive-train systems. The SC500 C38 aims to deliver 500bhp. To achieve this, the engine, driveline and management systems will be changed. An air to air intercooler will be added to increase performance by a further five per cent during spring 2006.
The 500bhp option also features cross-bolting with revised compression ratio, forged pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft, lighter flywheel and clutch, plus an uprated fuel pump and injectors.
The cooling system might need uprating too...
