So this is the other end of what JLR's Special Vehicle Operations can do. Earlier this week the
Range Rover Sport SVR
was reviewed and now there's a one-off
Defender
, designed by Sir Paul Smith and created by SVO.
Counted all 27 colours yet?
Bespoke vehicles will also be part of SVO's remit with this car - in case you hadn't already guessed - built entirely to Paul Smith's personal spec. Outside there are 27 different colours, said to take inspiration from the British countryside and colours historically seen on Armed Forces Defenders.
The interior doesn't quite have 27 colours but does feature contrast blue stitching, a new Paul Smith clock and "lots of little hidden details." Again the intention was to ensure the Defender is unique. Certainly that...
Powertrain? That's rather missing the point. The Paul Smith Defender is here to enhance the image of both while ensuring the Defender is being discussed right up until its last day of production. You get the feeling they will probably succeed!
