There are some cars for which the reveal process is very drawn-out, mysterious and shrouded in considerable secrecy, the manufacturer desperate to build the excitement and hide the final form from prying eyes. And while that might be the case for the latest Wiesmann, the cat is now somewhat out of the bag with these spy shots.
More to the point, it was already pretty clear from Wiesmann's teaser shots how the new car would look - that is to say, rather like the old ones. Still, when design is such a strong selling point, it would be risky to meddle with it too much. The new Morgan Plus Six seems like the most sensible comparison; it's entirely new underneath, but extremely familiar outwardly, because that's what customers buy into.
Still, there are a couple of ways to identify this Wiesmann - believed to use the 'MF6' name, and the BMW M5's V8 - against the old models. First are the chunkier intakes at the front end, presumably necessitated by a larger, more complex engine. Note as well the rear spoiler that's larger than we've seen from Wiesmann before and a different exhaust arrangement. Nobody is going to mistake the silhouette for anything but a Gecko-badged sports car, though it's also clear that this car is ever so slightly different from what's come before.
As for any further details on how the MF6 differentiates itself from predecessors, there's nothing additional as yet. That said, with the proposed 2020 launch date looming and now the presence of two physical cars, things are looking good. Bring on that TVR twin test next summer...
