Singer Vehicle Design's company ethos is 'Restored. Reimagined. Reborn'. It's a belief that has earned it a great deal of fans across the world for its work on 911s. Now it's been confirmed that
Singer
will be in attendance at Goodwood next weekend - the company's first appearance in the UK - with not only a hill run but a new car as well.
All we know about the hill car is that it's a coupe driven by Marino Franchitti and some bloke called Harris. The big news is Singer's latest creation, its first open car and to be shown on the Cartier Lawn.
The Targa is based on a 964 and will be powered by Singer's new 4.0-litre flat-six. Originally Singer's products used a 964 3.6-litre lump, which soon became 3.8 thanks to a little help from Cosworth. Now Ed Pink racing has taken the engine to 4.0-litres and it features Mahle pistons, new heads, a Pankl crank and a Jenvey GT3 intake plenum. Numbers? 390hp at 7,200rpm and 315lb ft at 6,000rpm. Oh yes.
So that's yet another car on the 'must-see' list for the Festival of Speed. Singer's Rob Dickinson said "it's a true honour that such a prestigious event acknowledges our passion and commitment." More info as it's released!
