Eclipse Motorsport's John Griffiths and Chris Pollard announced on Friday that they're selling their TVR T400R racecar in favour of a Mosler (right). The team's new Mosler MT900R will contest the British GT Championship in 2005 and other European races, while the team’s TVR T400R will be offered for sale. A second Mosler remains an option.
An announcement about drivers in 2005 will follow shortly.
John Griffiths said “We’re very excited about the move to Mosler. It was something that, to be honest, we had seriously considered for the 2002 season and Chris and I were due to see the car race in the September GrandAm race at Daytona prior to placing an order. However, the events of September 11th caused the cancellation of both the race and our visit and by the time that we returned to Daytona for the Rolex 24 we had ordered the TVR.
“It was, therefore, ironic to find ourselves battling out the 2003 season against the Short and Balfe Moslers, though we can’t pretend to have been surprised at how good they were.
“Shorty has done a top job in getting the production sorted up at Breckland and it was extremely heartening to be there the other week as a container lorry was opened up to reveal 30 or so tubs and bodies to join the rows of crated engines already in the warehouse. Having suffered the frustrations of an unfulfilled road car programme in the past this was rather good to see."
