Paul Radisich will race the VIP car in the final rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Donington Park (25/26 September). The touring car ace will dovetail the Porsche races with contesting the Touring Car Masters event over the same weekend.
The New Zealander, now living and racing in Australia, was twice winner of the FIA World Touring Car Championship and won six BTCC races during the 1990s. Prior to that, he raced in British F3 and was teamed with Damon Hill in 1986.
In 2004 he has been racing in the V8 Supercar series in Australia, but now has the chance to race in Britain once more. Amongst his rivals will be his former touring car adversary and Carrera Cup title contender Tim Harvey, while Radisich follows former BTCC stars John Cleland and Alain Menu in racing the Porsche Cars GB VIP entry.
Radisich will only get the chance to sample the 911GT3 Cup car for the first time during testing at Donington on Thursday afternoon. At least he will be familiar with the circuit as it was at Donington in 1994 that he secured his second touring car World crown.
