Hardcore is a good way to level up quickly, you get massive extra points for one shot kills etc which is pretty much every kill you make in hc.
Agreed. It is less forgiving but better for it. After a few hours of this, I jumped into ground war to help with some bounties and was left frustrated at the number of shots taken to kill. Flat-out said:
Did you play the Rainbow 6 Beta? The game as a whole is a bit meh but co-op was good fun. I think the fellas are buying it which may tempt me to do likewise. I'm on the fence though as I have enough to play.
Nah. I looked at it but, many of the reviews were tepid at best. I've got SW battlefront and fallout 4 on the xmas list so most of my time will be taken up with those. I haven't felt motivated to play Destiny in weeks, even with the new hard mode challenges.Back on topic, I really must try to get online a bit more this weekend and I really need to deviate from Team Deathmatch or FFA with bots. I suspect that objective game modes would be more fun with a group.
Trying to get all the challenges done with the HVK. Started to get used to it and getting an easy 1.5+ K/D every game, not really having any problem killing people.
Then I jumped a few lobby's and start noticing people lagging. Then I just found it impossible to kill anybody, whether it be me not being able to aim before I'm dead or hitting them a chunk but still getting 1 hit, I was getting like 5 kills 20 deaths.
Although I did enjoy AW the gameplay on this is better, but the online feels exactly the same, you can be doing fine but then suddenly killing people becomes a complete impossibility
I Was going to buy the season pass but I probably won't bother because I sold AW before the end of its cycle for the same reason!

Glad to be out of it. Realised that the M has cost me over £8 per mile this year after only usual expenditure and routine servicing. I only did 216 miles before she was put away for winter. All because of that bloody game. Speckle said:

I don't really like TDM as I get bored. I much prefer objective based games- it gives a different dynamic and also helps with kills. Players pool in certain areas. Domination, Safeguard and Hardpoint are the favoured choices. Managed to get a triple with a single annihilator bullet:-

More luck than anything else, but I didn't think this would be possible.
I have to say that, network issues aside, I am loving this game. The weapons feel so balanced. I rarely find that a single gun and load-out dominates every map. Having said that, I'm really enjoying the "take a primary in your secondary slot" wildcard. This has resulted in my "go-to" class to most maps- Scythe, Locus and KRM shotty:-

I can run around like a loon and also sit back and snipe choke points when I feel like changing up.

Had the Netduma for a couple of weeks now. It does look like a doorbell from yesteryear!
For me, it seems to be providing information on why things are so bad, rather than offering an easy fix. You can see in real-time the ping bouncing all over the place or a whole lobby of UK players being hosted on west coast US. You can even trace your ping and often it takes a decidedly bizarre route between you, other players, the host and back. It does have the potential to be incredible, but looking at the (netduma) forums, there is no 'general setting' that works for everyone (even on the same ISP). It's constant tinkering, but nice when you do find a sweet spot.
We have to restart the netduma fairly often, it's obvious once it can't stop the laggy hosts. We're a little rural and even though we have (very limited) infinity, we seem to only be offered dedicated servers - either Ireland or the US. The US ones are properly hit and miss - just like before the netduma it's a flip of a coin between getting smashed or dishing out a beating. The annoying 'all positive vs all negative lobbies' over which you have no say. The Ireland dedi makes it more like 70/30 between half decent and unbearable. On the rare occasion we get a p2p host within our settings it's sweet as.
If I set the restrictions very strict, I can sit waiting at the menu for perhaps half an hour, but when the game finally lands normally it's 90%+ it'll play sweetly.
No idea why they can't fix it properly though. I watch the boys playing Titanfall and Halo etc and there is simply no comparison between how things play, so it obviously can be done.

An accurate summary which echoes my experience.
I'm putting a lot of time into Rainbow 6 Siege, Star Wars as well as BLOPS3 and the constant tinkering with settings is infuriating. Apparently, a "profile" setting is in development so settings can be saved for each game. It'll be possible to switch between these with a single click. We'll see.
That said, as mentioned, it is wonderful when it works. I'll not be returning mine. Doesn't fix the obvious netcode issues with this game though. Finding a lobby last night was atrocious.

Our little COD group are all buying BF4.
We used to play BF4 on PS3 for days and it was great fun. If you were good, which we are, you would win. If you were ste, then you lost.
Where as COD seems hit and miss.
Matchmaking is such a pain in the arse, it will kick us out of 1 every 3 or 4 lobbies randomly until we all reboot our PS4s.

Why don't you just get it on EA Access? We used to play BF4 on PS3 for days and it was great fun. If you were good, which we are, you would win. If you were ste, then you lost.

EDIT: Unless PS4 doesn't get that? Not sure if its only on Xbox.
I've started having more network problems over the past few days, my ping bar keeps dropping off and I have turned on the ping chart in game, most games have my ping bouncing up to 115. My internet is fine though and I have an open NAT so I don't have a clue whats going on!
Mmmm not sure about EA Access. Never looked into it. We would all just move to BF4 and play on that lol.
Another evening of absolute BS on COD.
So frustrating, tonights thorn was moronic team mates who run around in Hardcore almost intentionally running between you and your enemy you're trying to kill.
So you accidentally team kill them. When you both respawn then they teamkill you!!!!!

Don't worry about the people who teamkill you, they rarely make it to the end of the match. If they have already teamkilled someone twice then when you accidentially run in front of them they get kicked .Another evening of absolute BS on COD.

Been having a nightmare with this game last week or so now, everybody is full Ping but people are clearly jumping frames.
Played a game with friends and the people we were against were literally impossible to hit they were moving so fast, on the kill cam they were glitching about and constantly jumping frames so it basically looked like they were teleporting.
Then I just saw this!!

Yup, been having some terrible matches over the last 3 days and figured the update 'could' have been a contributing factor.
The connection quality has fallen off a cliff, it was so good a week ago. I followed the port-forwarding instructions and now always have a NAT type Open and 4 bars of Ping, but this gives me a disadvantage when the rest of the lobby all have just 3 bars. Instead of my 'better' connection giving me an advantage, I'm massively disadvantaged.
For instance, trying to use the Argus Shotgun which is great, but of late I haven't killed a thing because by the time I've hip-fired the weapon I'm already dead - whist I hear the sound of the gun firing, the kill-cam shows a completely different series of events. The player which confronted me had time to aim down sights, move and fire - and my shot never even registered.
It's painful to play as a result.
