The ELC is the stealthiest light tank of all, but it has a crappy 300m range radio, making it a poor scout.

The 12t, 13 75 and 13 90 can all use a 750m range radio. While they're not quite as super stealthy as the ELC, they all have the same camo value, which is the best at their respective tiers. Their view range is better too.

I managed to get 3000+ spotting/tracking damage yesterday in a tier 9 game on Redshire.

Unfortunately it was with the IS heavy tank, which is as blind as a bat. Go figure.
I call that "spotting with my face"

Re: Light tank spotting for damage. Run high tier lights. Quick early moving spot and run (hopefully undetected). Binos I find a waste as you should be moving a lot and view range is high with optics + crew skills anyway. Stay alive and pick up the rest of the spotting damage later in game after all the other lights have suicided in an attempt to get mission "x". the obvious spotting points e.g. prok E5 become more viable later on when the other team assumes they have dealt with the threat already. Oh and the stars need to align with the second coming. Corridor maps just forget about spotting and make yourself a damage dealing nuisance (a'la T37 style).
The light tank mission I am struggling with is track 3. I swear I have done this numerous times and not got the mission (perhaps they need to die...).
Perhaps buy the t49 that I don't really want - just to nail this... curse

The 10.0 test server is up again. The Sherman Reva...Reva... tier 8 premium is there if you want to try it.

Do the LT spotting missions platooned with mates in Arty, use TeamSpeak then radio range limit isn't an issue, I had struggled with it then did the above and got 4500 spotting damage first time out.

Oh and keep playing till you get Prokhorovka, by far the best spotting map IMO.

Tried the light tank mission again last night. Got sodding Himmelsdorf about 3 times. Gave up in the end!

I think I might give the test server a whirl this time. I want to try that French premium M4 before splashing any cash on it.

Hehe.. I just got a Patrol Duty (and Steel Wall) with the Churchill III, one of the slowest tanks there is.

It's not really a great tank, but it makes credits and XP like a boss.

I've not run mine in ages, it can be great on an urban map, pop pop pop. I prefer to play my KV-220 for n00b crushing at tier 5. I've got a Panzer V/IV too, which by most accounts so be amazing for trashing stuff at tier 5, but I think it's rubbish.

Update 2.3 is live on the Xbox, the full American light line has been added along with the LTTB and the T-54 Lightweight. There is a new game mode with no flags, a sort of "NO CAP KILL ALL" mode if you will, I haven't had a game on that yet. Some buffs, including a buff to the M41B which now has rare tank status, everyone was complaining that it needed a buff and they wouldn't buy it, so they buffed it as they took it off sale, so everyone that bought one got it made even better and all the complainers didn't get a chance to buy the improved version.

We've got a Halloween battle mode on the way, on a modified Himmelsdorf with a graveyards, ghosts and a pumpkin man burning at the stake. The tanks in this mode look like T-34-85s, but they've been turned to a blue hue and made translucent, the crew are modeled inside the tank as skeletons complete with motion physics so they bobble around inside the tank as it moves. The ground resistance has been made super low and the engine power boosted so the tanks can drift with ease, the guns fire ghost shells (not the normal kind we get in this game!) which fly in glowing arcs, with screaming sound effects coming from the shells. It looks like it will be a good laugh and as with the Lunar Chaffee mission last year, it doesn't affect stats so cocking around is positively encouraged.

In other news I've given up on the Chinese medium line, I still really want a 121 but I'll go through the light line to get it. I'm going to go down the heavy line instead for the WZ-111-14 which looks amazing, but I'll get the tier X when I get to it. I just couldn't take playing those Chinese mediums right now, but the heavy line looks ok. The sad thing is I'll have another 45,000xp or so to go to get the IS-2, then I'll have to go back and play the fking Type T-34 again to unlock the lights. I did want to play all 3 lines eventually, but I'm just rearranging the way that I'm going through them. I'm going to have a proper burn on the Type 61 tomorrow and try and get that 105mm rifled gun unlocked. I've sickened myself enough with the Type 58 today.

I found the Chinese heavy line great fun from tier 7 (the IS 2). Am grinding the 110 at the moment.

Am just downloading the test server too just to try out that French premium. Shame it doesn't count toward the weekend mission which will boost my tank buying fund by 150000 after selling all the repair kits.

Hmm, this is bizarre.

Have downloaded the test server, logged in as me. No Czech line or French M4. Bugger.

Ah, figured it out. It isn't available to buy, it's just in your garage with your other tanks.

First game with the French prem M4. Not bad at all. It is very much a support tank and you don't want to get hit but the gun is excellent.

Also tried out the tier 10 French arty. Apart from the 68 second reload it's brilliant. If you're targetted by that thing keep moving!

Will try some other tier 10s while I have it running. I want to see if the Conquerer GC is worth the grind through the piles of st British arty after the FV304.

Test server will probably be a tough place to really get an understanding of how good an arty piece is, as it's so YOLO due to it not affecting people's stats. Generally speaking, the CGC is the best tier 10 arty but the grind is brutal, I'm not going to lie. When all of the other artillery pieces in the game start getting some real damage output and fear factor, the Brits lag way behind. It isn't until you get the top gun on the tier 9 that you'll really start to be able to do some real damage to the enemy and actually control areas of the map with constant damage output. The CGC feels like a step back at first as the reload is so crushingly slow (about 41 seconds with a rammer, vents and BIA crew), it can't lock an area of the map down with constant fire. The grind is brutal.

With the CGC (and the T92), due to their low ROF you have to learn when to choose between killing a weakened enemy and letting them live in order to shoot at an enemy with more health in order to maximise your damage output. Of course, this is the case with any artillery, but it's more important than ever when realistically you'll probably only fire at the most 7 or 8 shots per game and some of them will miss. Fire nothing but premium ammo and run a tier 8 premium to recoup your losses.

Try the Centurion Action 10 as well. It's definitely going to replace the FV4202 in the next patch.

Only those with the FV4202 before the patch lands will get the chance to win one when it reappears as a tier 8 premium.

There's going to be some more bullst missions for this apparently.

I've unlocked it and I'm currently raising the 6 million credits to buy one.

I've just watched QB's new video on the changes the emblem and inscription system. I'm with QB, this new idea stinks of P2W, or at least P2tipthebalance. Poor show from WG. Has this been done to deepen the gameplay and tactical element, or to get money out of people? Oh, I wonder which it is...

The WoT developers patently don't play their own game any more.

If they did they'd know the IS-3, E5 and IS-7 didn't need buffing. Trouble is they just look at the stats and because a lot of bad players gravitate towards these tanks, they make them look bad.

They wouldn't have screwed over the mid tiers by putting stupidly OP Japanese heavies in the game either.

Sounds like Wargaming don't fully realise the threat of Armoured Warfare.

Several of our clan are playing it and say it's brilliant.

Yes it's pretty good. They've taken what's good about WoT and ditched or minimized the most annoying features like excessive RNG and "gold ammo". Even ammo rack damage doesn't double the reload, it just goes up by a bit. Garage slots are free and every tank gets 6th sense by default too.

Ammo choice is up to you and what you've unlocked on a particular tank. HEAT does more alpha damage, but has less penetration than an AP / Sabot round. It's also likely to be defeated by more modern tanks with composite armour or those with ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour). In which case, shoot them with AP / Sabot or HE / HESH at a pinch.

One of the best parts is that artillery can't one shot people or totally wreck them. You also get a loud verbal warning "Driver MOVE!" when they're about to fire and a big red directional arrow appears on screen. You don't have much time to react, but at least you have a chance of diving for cover.

That's a promotion I assume?

I was in a game with BritishSecretService and a couple of other Circlings the other day. They didn't last long unfortunately.
