Looking to get a Cerbera 4.5LW or a Tuscan S at the end of the year (more test driving needed yet to make mind up). I am looking at getting a 1 year old model in winter when the prices are cheap.

Just to make sure I am doing my maths right, I assume there is pretty much no movement on new prices from dealers? I would be interested to hear of anyone who has recently purchased a new TVR at a discount.

The other problem I have is I'm not sure the Cerbie will go in the garage and me still be able to get out. I'm not really sure about how to solve this one. Measurements aren't really an answer due to funny sticky out bits in the garage meaning I really need to get an actual car in there to see.

I don't really feel right asking a (not so) local dealer to lend me a car for a couple of hours to try this when I may never buy from there (would be a different story if I decide to go new, but the Mrs went ape when I suggested that tonight). I suppose I could ask one of you chaps to pop round, but I would feel awful if anyone scratched their pride & joy in that sort of situation. Any ideas?

Cheers

Sorry Christof, the Mrs won't let me have a black one, though I would love to get a RR cerb.

Noddles, I'm in East Anglia.

I've gone for rubber mats (cheap from Halfords) which I've screwed to the wall.

No comments on the discounts yet?

Thanks for the tips guys.

I reckon I would be ok with anything other than the cerb. The cerb will go in. I'm just not sure I would get out with those monster length doors.

Tony, thanks for your kind offer, I may very well take you up on it.

Good news, the Mrs is staring to crack. First she said I could consider a Tamora new as they are <40k, and now tonight she is starting to think about a new cerb 4.5 or Tuscan S, as long as I don't break 50k with the options! (So how am I going to sneak the Red Rose spec in?) Mind you she is giving me loads of grief about how I'm going to have to wash it more than my old scoob.

Matt, I suspected as much. Suppose I could try phoning around to see if it differs between dealers or I luckily find one desprate for some reason (cancellation quick sell?). Or I could just make a right nuisance of myself at the local with loads of test drives to make sure I make the right choice.

Of course, going new, the Noble now starts to come into the equation and I reckon it would really suit me. However, no luggage space, no local dealer, where to get it serviced, looks very speed bump unfriendly (but so does the Tuscan S), and what will the market in them be like in 3-4 years when it is time to sell?
