I'm interested in the "don't grass yourself up" statement in this ^^ video Reg, with regard to making a mistake whilst under test?
For me, i'd rather someone notices their mistake, comes clean, and explains that it was a mistake and then explains how they will avoid making it again than ignores it completely, hopes the examiner doesn't notice, and carries on?
Ok, there are mistakes and there are mistakes. If you run through a red light at ninety, then i think we can safely say any examiner (DSA/advan) will have noticed that one, where as a short period doing say 34 in a 30 perhaps not, but self appraisal, critiscism and responsive learning are key to forming better habits in everything we do.
This is just specific advice that I give to candidates about to take an advanced test - I'm not asking them to ignore their mistake. I just want them to not focus on it too much. It doesn't happen very often, but I can think of 2 occasions during test when a candidate has pointed out a minor error which I hadn't spotted myself. Not biggys, but overthinking these mistakes can spoil their overall performance on test. For me, i'd rather someone notices their mistake, comes clean, and explains that it was a mistake and then explains how they will avoid making it again than ignores it completely, hopes the examiner doesn't notice, and carries on?

This is so cool. I'm not at all into bikes, but it's the first time I watched some bike stuff and thought this is cool! I'm going to make a series of videos on how to pass an advanced driving test.
Here's the intro which explains everything:
