C70 convertible manual roof operation

hello again - sorry for all these noob questions, but...
In the event my electrically operated roof failed, motors blew, or something, how do I raise/lower my roof? The handbook helpfully advises "visit dealer"... which is fine if the roof is up or down, but what if it's half way?!!
ANy help gratefully received.
(it's working fine btw - just wondering in preparation...)
