Learning to fly .....Just how hard?
Discussion
I fancy trying my hand at flying RC planes and Helis.
There is a local club to me that I could join, but I was wondering just how hard it is to learn ?
I have raced indoor cars and have a cheap indoor heli that is fun but not capable of 3D flight sadly.
Any hints ,tips and recommendations on the whole deal chaps?

Thanks guys, some good advice here.
Im planning to visit my local club on Saturday and go from there. As said, I think its worth putting my name on the waiting list of there is one.
Currentyl scanning ebay for micro helis to play with indoors for a while - not coaxial ones.
If I did go the park flying route, theres a very large field I can use (hockey club) that we used to walk the dogs on. Hardly ever see anyone at all down there, ever.
Theres an archery club that use it midweek in the summer.

Couldnt get down the flying field last weekend, and today was to windy.
Hoping to get down there in the morning and meet the clubs chief instructor.
After ignoring all the advice above (like you do ), I bought a Blade Nano CPS to play with....
Its not easy is it ?
However, its coming together quite quickly and I love learning...

UPDATE:
If you recollect, I bought the RFT Blade CPS...
As predicted, I crashed the hell out of this.
The last crash pulled the power lead off the board (£45) and was OOS and my local store.
They did however, offer me a Blade MSR (Flybar/FP) for £45...
Since I had just bought a used DX6I off the bay, I said yes.
Upshot of this - instantlty controllable heli flight!
Started off with 30% and 75% every where else.
Now happy to fly with 20 expo and everything else full fat...
Will continue with this until after the upcoming holiday and will then re attempt the CPS....
Am now offically on the waiting list for the local club as well.....

Update time :
Been officially a member of the club for a month but just had no time to get down the flying field.
As a result, I bit the bullet and bought this :
http://www.horizonhobby.com/sport-cub-s-bnf-with-s...
This worked for me as it uses the same batts that my Helis do, so have a handfull already.
Has three modes and panic recovery.
Never flown a plane before, but spent last night flying it on basic settings - used 5 batteries throguh it.
Im hooked.
Even on basic settings its quite quick and nimble, more time in the air will make it a cracking little plane I reckon.
