Hardly, I can't remember the last time I went out with any intention of getting a KOM, whereas matey from our club goes out when the wind is right on his TT bike.

Who is the bloke round your way Silver?

A lot of people have been cheating recently, and in yours and my area, so it could be that. Using digital EPO.

I think that is the case in quite a few of the segments, I guess it would take someone who is hyper competitive to EPO in a virtual world but I struggle to see what they would get from it?
Post a segment up you suspect and I'll tell you if its been doctored.

I once tried DEPO out to see how it would look on Strava. I'd heard about the data spikes but they didn't seem to show in my trace.
I've seen a few recently, and when you really zoom in its obvious if someone has used it or not, but it depends how much they have sped the ride up by, 1% would be very hard to spot, 10% would be quite easy.

I've never actually looked at it.

Would imagine that was a 100 mile TT as a few have happened this weekend.

Not if you don't have a powermeter.

Lol, of course its fake, nobody can ride at those speeds. I'd be interested to know how he faked it though as its not through digital epo, perhaps on a moped or something like that

Awesome. I reckon I could average 25mph for the commute with that bad boy.

It will really depend if they attack the climbs. Most of the Surrey Climbs were not KOM'd in the Surrey Classic, Phil Gilbert was about 25 seconds away from the box Hill KOM when he attacked on it.

Some of the times are very fast set by local pros who have hit them on the right day and unless a full blow pro is giving it full beans lots of them won't fall I don't think. More likely it will be the flat ones where bombing along at 30 in the bunch is so much easier than anyone could ever do alone.

It will be wrong.

50 mph is quite hard to do on many british roads without really forgetting about safety! Far easier to hit those speeds in europe with long open and clear downhills.

Whenever I've hit high speeds I have not been pedaling...Find a long enough hill and you don't need to pedal at all (or step enough).

Its over 10%, so unless you're Contador, you would notice you were going up it.

Just set your profile to 'request to follow' that way all rides are private unless they request to follow you.

It's possible to circumvent that privacy, via the leaderboards, if you can find the rider you want on them. Just click on the time from the leaderboard and that particular ride will be viewable. I used that one to send a 'cease and desist' warning to a couple of 'trail diggers' who I caught digging on MOD land. I got no response, but at least they know they're being watched now.

I've also said a 'digital' "Hi!" to a couple of people I've identified via the StravaLabs ride playback site, but only folk I've actually met and spoken to on a ride. I'm not weird or owt wink
I've used it to hunt out choppers who sit on my wheel when I'm on my TT bike training and give them both barrels for it.-

On road bike, I don't have an issue as such, but if I am training rather than dawdling I will do my best to drop them instead of drag them round the park or Surrey.

On a TT bike however, I am not near the brakes when in the extensions, I am training on fast roads, and I'm usually going faster than I would on a roadbike. The last thing I want is somebody I don't know on my wheel, or more likely half wheeling me as he's got no idea. The reasons it annoys me is because TT bikes are not THAT safe at the best of times on public roads, but if I need to stop, or take evasive action then the bloke behind me doesn't know I am not near my brakes. If he is half wheeling and I move right to dodge a hole then it all goes wrong very quickly. The fact its a £4500 frame also makes me nervous about randoms sitting 2 inches away from me.

As for doing it to other people, what is the point?

If you do, then give them a turn, or let them know you're there. Its considered a bit rude otherwise...

I should add, just to keep Bedford Rascal happy, that the last time someone managed to hold my wheel for any period of time was early spring 2007. Which incidentally was the last time I used the small ring I think?

Oh, has anyone got a spare 11t cog? I've worn mine smooth.
