Anyone work for te NHS here as a Clinical Scientist or maybe for the recruitment team of the NHS?

My wife is looking for a clinical scientist role in the NHS, but we have read that anyone applying needs to have certain entry criteria (some training).

Can anyone help us with this and advise us on how to go about getting this training leading to a job in the NHS....

I'm not a clinical scientist, nor work in recruitment but I do work for the NHS. Here's my take on things... You usually tend to find that the recruiting isn't hugely involved with HR anyway.
Because of the diverse nature of all the techy requirements, what tends to happen is that all the applications for a post will end up with the recruiting manager who assesses whether the applicant is up for the job.

They'll then weed out all the "possiblies" from the "definitely nots" and interview them.
If there's a specific post advertised that she's interested in then the best bet is to phone up the person listed for the ubiquitous "informal chat" and get them to tell her more.
In general, folk that work in the NHS are friendly and helpful (no, really) and will at least point her in the right direction.

Another possibility is a work placement, which my org certainly runs although we're a little distance from Wiltshire! If she phones up the local trust HR dept and asks about a placement then they may be able to help.
Only downside is that it might not be paid, but it gets her through the door to meet the right people and see what the work is like.

Final point is that qualifications aren't necessarily a hard and fast rule. If she's working on the other side of the fence for somebody like Roche/Siemens/Sysmex/Abbott/Biomeriuex then just because she hasn't got a bit of paper to say she can do the job doesn't mean she can't!
Experience is just as valuable sometimes...
