Shift allowance entitlement?
Discussion
Just a quick query around my current working hours. My contract of many years at the same company states I do 8.5 hours flexi time between 8AM and 6PM.
A new manager has meant that over the past few months, a rota has been brought in that means we now have set 8AM starts one week, and set 6PM finishes the next, so a set shift pattern.
Doing these set hours isnt a massive issue but I wanted to find out whether as a result of moving onto a set shift there is any entitlement to a shift allowance, or because it doesnt involve any outside of standard 8AM - 6PM office hours, it isnt seen as a shift as such.
Cheers

By the sounds of it you are working as per your contract. Unless there is an express provision within your contract then there is no entitlement to any supplementary payment.A new manager has meant that over the past few months, a rota has been brought in that means we now have set 8AM starts one week, and set 6PM finishes the next, so a set shift pattern.
