At the start of the month, I traded my z4 in for a 2006 M6. First M-car, even if it’s the smallest engine of my current fleet. smile

The front tyres are Conti Sport Contact 2, and 6 years old (but with plenty of tread), the rears are Accelera Phi - which I understand has the same tread pattern as the CSC2’s, but it’s plainly obvious to me they’re nowhere near as good at grip.

I’m a Michelin man at heart, and would like to put my preferred PS4S’s on the car, same as I’ve got on the 760, so I know the tyre already. However, they don’t come in the standard sizes for the M6.

Would you:

1 - MPSS in OEM sizes.
2 - MPS4S in OEM + 10mm section width (i.e. 265 f & 295r)

Having had a good feel around the arches, etc. I’m happy they’ll fit, and while there’s a very slight increase in rolling radius, it’s not enough to worry me. Feedback from current/previous owners (and interested parties) is welcomed!

Secondly, I’ve been driving the car in Manual mode, shift speed 5 as “standard”. When I stop at a junction & foot on brake, then release, accelerate, there’s no issue. If I use the handbrake, upon release & drive take-up, there’s a severe jolt/thump, which feels as if it’s coming from the rear, so I don’t think it’s clutch actuator/judder.

I’ve tried knocking it into neutral at the lights, and then releasing h/b, then foot on brake & into 1st and off we go, no issue, but that’s a bit of a PITA.

So, for any S85 owners/experts, what am I doing wrong please?
