Upgrading drivers and tweeters within my monitors
Discussion
OK. So I've got a pair of VideoLogic Sirocco Spirit speakers and instead of changing them altogether, I'd like to try some "homebrew" upgrades!
I'd like to replace the main drivers with something more substantial and upgrade the tweeters which I've been told are crap!
The amp however I've been told on the Sirocco speakers is very good, so I figured upgrading could be an interesting option.
I should be able to fit mostly any 105mm driver and 60mm tweeter so what's recommended within a reasonable price range that would improve the sound significantly?
For reference, specs are here: http://www.videologic.com/Factsheets/VL-60394.pdf
However here is a summary:
50 watts RMS per channel
Bass/mid frequency drive unit: Audax 4" cone.
High frequency drive unit: Audax 10 mm polymer dome.
