So - Dev's uncle has died, and he needs to stay in India a bit longer. Nice to see a unique storyline in Corrie, never had that one before. (Why is Jimmy Rasharkin on prolonged leave? has he been on the marching powder again?)
Also, when will we hear about Deirdre?surveyor said:

Also, when will we hear about Deirdre?David's comment about the Gavin/Andy scenario - "you couldn't make it up". Well, actually, it's a soap. So it is made up.
Ask a 13-year old mum what to call her sprog, and you're not going to get Eurydice. But, really, Miley??
I'm confused by this money-raising of Tony's. He tells Liz that "Kneecapper Charlie" needs cash, and fast, and then settles for a share of the Rovers. OK, he's got what he really wants, but how does this fit in with his story to Liz? She thinks he needs cash - Steve's giving him a "paper" share in a business. Won't she be a bit suspicious?

Liz is a bit thick...Ask a 13-year old mum what to call her sprog, and you're not going to get Eurydice. But, really, Miley??

Adrian:- "I suppose in your job you don't know where your next meal is coming from".......
Jason:- "It's OK, me mam makes all the meals in our house"...
A rare serious post from me re Corrie...
As I have mentioned before, I have been watching the programme since the very first episode in 1960, since I was knee high to a grasshopper, and over that time Corrie has tried to reflect changing trends and issues in society, infidelity, divorce, rape, lesbianism...(is that a word?)...racism (The "play the white man" storyline which dragged on months between Eileen's fireman boyfriend Paul and Lloyd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrhmRK-RiFQ
However, one thing that really gets on my t***s is Shaun's (Anthony Cotton's) gay agenda at every opportunity, If he is gay, fine, no problem, but why does he have to push it down everybody's throat all the time...for instance in the pub in the last episode with the bigoted landlord when booking a room with his vicar boyfriend....the landlord said "Sorry we only have a twin bedded room, you can have that" to which he replied "It's OK, we can push the beds together"...........Why did he say that?..Why not just keep quiet and do it?
I realise it is 2015, and times have changed (thankfully), but why does he (particularly) have to go round flaunting his sexual orientation?
Wonder what other Corrie fans think, am I out of touch, or do I have a point.
Sorry if my post offends anyone,..btw, some of my best friends are gay, so no problem there...

Wacky I suggest you look up the producer, it's he who has the agenda hence you have more homosexual and bi people in Corry than the average person ever comes across.
Well yes, I realise of course "Shaun" is only acting the role, and is reading lines from a script, but I am pretty sure he must have some input.I think really, the point I am trying to make is... Sophie is gay, but she just gets on with her life without fuss, and everybody accepts her for her for it..(Quite rightly so).
Come to think of it, where's Maddie gone?
Sorry, reposted because of my awful spelling......

Did you hear Sean talk about how he got the job on Corry? Worth looking up if not. On the producer role it's well known he is a homo warrior if you get my drift, trying to slip homosexuality and propaganda into everything.
Exactly my point DS, I wouldn't mind too much if they were subtle about it, imo they are "using" the show to push their own agenda, which is not on.Still, it's their show, they can do what they want.

If it is good drama - and it is- then why worry about a gay storyline? We have had everything else , and if incidentally some of the residual bigotry about gay people is lessened then what on earth is the problem? Of bloody course the character is angry and vocal about the pub bigot - and why shouldn't he be ? It isn't 1965 any more . Soaps reflect society - and we live in different times. Look at the sensitivity and respect of the Hayley storyline ..what would some knuckle dragger comedian like a Davidson or a Manning have made of that in the 70s? I don't want to go back to that bigotry and hate , even in a soap .

If Steve had said it checking in with Michelle, or Lloyd with Andrea, you wouldn't be posting on here about it. You wouldn't be saying "look, we know they've gone away for the weekend and they're going to have sex, but why not keep quiet about it."And I guess that's the point. 2 gay people using exactly the same off the cuff comment as 2 straight people might use raises eyebrows, when it shouldn't.
Interesting comments, and thanks for all the feedback, as expected a difference of opinion, which is good, debate is good. I was just expressing my views, Shaun is gay, great, why shout it from the rooftops....It's the same with people ramming religion down your throats...
Actually, this happened to me once....
Way back in 1975, I went down to Earls Court to see Led Zeppelin with a good mate....(male)...(straight)
After the concert we were going to take a few days break, so we had pre-booked in to a small hotel in Bournemouth, and we told the owner that we would not be arriving until about 1am.
He said "No problem, we are open all night"
When we were checking in I said "Hi, Mr Wacky Racer here, we have booked into a single twin bedded room".....(to save costs, although I didn't say that to him).
He gave me a withering look and said "I don't want to know your reasons"...
It was only in the morning I realised what he was alluding to.......
Always makes us chuckle...

You should have gone down to reception the next day, thrown a used condom on the desk, and say "can you get rid of that for us?". Actually, this happened to me once....

(Sorry to lower the tone of the thread)
As a final observation, I'm disappointed if a popular TV programme feels the need to act with some sort of social agenda. It's one thing to use the show to reflect social issues of the time or moment, but another thing altogether to try to influence public opinion. By all means have gay characters in the cast list, because when all is said and done, there are gays in every society. But please don't overdo the homophobia - the real world isn't like that any more. Please note Vladimir.
I see that Nick's old flame will return as an "older mum-to-be", presumably just as Nick is trying to get into Carla's underwear. (It'll never fit, mate). Shenanigans in store.......
