Ahhh. Makes it look like Coulson was pulling Pepper's chain.

I was expecting an RLM review for this. biggrin The RLM boys was a good review. I'd fancy going for some beers with them, those boys are drinkers. Don't fancy seeing the tumour/haemorrhoid statue though.

Grace also has a pretty measured and accurate take methinks. This vid, however deals with the elephant. biggrin And how the audience breaks down...Hollywood watches this stuff closely, 61% male turnout. biggrin

I did that for The Last Jedi....
I thought TLJ was disrespectful, stupid and made far too many mistakes, also fairly limited. CM, I like, I felt it's a bit different to other MCU (not totally, but I don't get how people are saying it's the same formula), the delivery and style was different enough to make me forget it was mcu at times, more like an old space adventure film.

One wrinkle that did keep tapping on my brain. SHIELD...didn't they start calling themselves that at the end of Iron-Man...but now I think on it...Winter Soldier said SHIELD ws the popular acronym beforehand? I genuinely cannot recall?
I only have a vague idea what you are saying, as I have only watched around 5 Marvel movies (I liked the first Iron Man and the first Thor, and really liked Wonder Woman, love films when the protagonist is a fish out of water..), and bought Infinity War on 4k BR, as everyone said it was the best thing ever. I have watched it once, and as far as I can tell, it is just more of more of the same - very well done, but for me, no heart and soul.

Having said that, I get why so many like them, and I am no judge, looking at my movie collection of crap..

Infinity War has too large a cast to be a stand alone movie. IMO you need to have watched, and rewatched, most of the Marvel movies for it to have any emotional connection. Perhaps it always needed to be that way however.

I'm getting jaded with Superhero movies, at the end it normally boils down to a fist fight between the goodie and the baddie, with the baddie nearly winning, but the goodie finding something extra to sneak a victory.

I needed to get out the house for a few hours, and was entertained by Captain Marvel, probably more by the little details than the main plot of the movie. It was a good popcorn movie. (And I actually bought pop-corn for the first time in years because of this.)

Some of the stuff out there is incredible. I happened across one comic book site posting pictures of empty cinema lobbies, claiming that the box office take is entirely fabricated, also articles suggesting Disney bought hundreds of thousands of charity tickets to inflate box office etc etc.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the increasing popularity of flat earth theories.

I went to the local cinemabox as opposed to big chain 'plex and it was pretty much at 80% capacity at a guess, maybe more.

I like Marvel stuff, not a huge fan as such, but look forward to seeing them. Weirdly, I missed that this was coming out until my 13 year old son said he was going with a couple of mates on Saturday.

Thankfully, his mates bailed on him through utter laziness, deciding to play PS3 instead and I went with him instead.

Was it the best i've seen? No

Was is enjoyable? Most definitely.

How nails is CM? Proper nails.....I mean, [spoilerish] she's messed up some serious hardware at one point lol!

TBF I was in the cinema @ 18.30 on monday night and there were maybe 30 people. Not great turnout - but then monday is a great day to go because (I think) it's the least popular day

There were less than a dozen in my showing, 156 seats available. It was 9pm on a Sunday night in Exeter though, to be fair.

The chap selling me the ticket went through the usual "would you like front, middle or back" speech though.

"Does it matter" I asked, and he agreed. I sat where I fancied when I got in.

Busy in the showing I went to, not quite sold out. 7pm on a Sunday night.

Agree with the poster above that IW would be difficult to appreciate unless you had seen the others, it must feel like quite random set of events without the context of the prior films.

yeah, it's unprecedented in film history. They took the comic formula of an 'event', and put in in movies, pretty darn amazing.

I respect your level of geekery. Yeah, his rage is infinite, so is his strength, plus as he ages, he gets stronger. There is a comic called World War Hulk where he gets close to achieving his prime, and Feig was toying with having a version of that 'worldbreaker' Hulk. It's possible we may see a version of this in Endgame. Hulk's character journey is happening in the ensemble films. He could still batter Marvel. biggrin
Absolutely this. It's a shame the licensing shenanigans prevented us from having a proper Hulk movie. Even in Ragnarok he doesn't play a massive part and is once again de-powered for some reason.

Still I think it's quite clever how they've managed to get around that somewhat by interweaving his story in among the other films. I'm hoping Endgame starts to show us a little bit of his worldbreaker power. Tony Stark calls him the strongest Avenger after all and he is a genius. wink

Yep Monday is by far the quietest evening, therefore it's the day I go 90% of the time! Tues and Wed are 2 for 1 night so much busier, and obviously Fri and Sat are peak.

Friday night was rammed at m local Odeon, but I was only one of 20 or so last night and it's worth remembering at multiplexes they'll have it on every hour (at least) on multiple screens.

it's true, so I'm not surprised it's not packed. When I went in, we chose a special screen that wraps around...talk about bloody annoying! Could hear my neck crick! Utter ste, and it was an extra £3! So we walked out and swapped for a nice normal screen, only had to wait mins since they were every half hour
this was 7 & 7:30 SUnday, both screens were 60%ish full

I saw it at the BFI IMAX and it was at capacity as far as I could see.

Didn't think the picture quality was that great to be honest. Dreary contrast and the picture just didn't 'pop' like other Marvel space movies eg Thor 3, GOTG 1 and 2

3D? If so that's always an issue, big loss of brightness and contrast. If for some reason Disney said 'come see End Game in 3D tomorrow 6 weeks before anyone else' I honestly wouldn't bother, horrible format.

Those hack frauds have sold out, they are now sponsored by the Milwaukee tourism board laugh

Seriously though they nail it in terms of the controversy at the start. It is why I love the RLM guys, they don't have an agenda beyond wanting to see good movies.

I'm a bit sad that the output of the rlm boys has slowed down. They're half in the bag bit. I do love the re:view stuff. I never would have experienced SUspiria without it. biggrin

Suspiria is one of my faves and is in my 4k collection (A visual and aural feast)! Have ordered the remake from the US, but am apprehensive about watching that one..

It hasn't really slowed down that much by the looks of it, they always haven't reviewed every movie.

Over the past few months they have reviewed Glass, Bird Box and now Captain Marvel. The only other new recent release they should have reviewed, IMO, is Alita.

I like Re:view as well but it is different. Unless Mike is involved it usually isn't particularly funny for one thing.

Half in thebag was more prolific, but then they started squashing them together, and there was a general feeling of malaise with them, which they talked about. I do like the other stuff they still keep up with though
